Before reading all the posts that came since this night, I want to continue my comment I started in the review-thread...

Because she has watched the movie only AFTER her previous (positive) comment. Her political affiliation forced her to look for something she could NOW use to dampen her previous praise.

Obviously, she is wrong as Pakistan and ISI are shown in NO light at all...neither Pakistan nor ISI are judged in any way. ..

The Pakistan general - knowing that he would die soon because of the cancer - made it his PERSONAL mission to blackmail India into a so-called 'liberation' of Kashmir after the abolition of 307. Without the knowledge of the Pakistan government, he contacted like-minded wealthy people to finance a PRIVATE terror project paying an unknown amount of money to Jim*s PRIVATE terrorgroup for hire (which name interestingly is Outfit X - the X = spelled ex - consisting only of Ex-agents from spy agencies around the world). Rubina as Ex-ISI agent is part of this private group with neither political nor religious affiliation.

The way RW nitpick everything you can't make movie. They showed ISI terrorists. But how dare they show one of ex ISI is against terrorism? Jim has proper backstory but no he is ex RAW. He shouldn't be villain.

The same people have no problem with SitaRamam . Where a Army officer ditched Ram n declared him traitor. Whereas a Pak official helped him.

They even criticize movies like Brahmastra.

Better ignore them and enjoy movies.

To continue my post about the strict non-judgement of Pakistan or ISI, I want to stress that the movie is non-judgemental of ANY country or government or agency or religion. Each criticism done is purely based on a personal trauma that influenced the respective person's decision to become an Ex agent.

Jim chooses to turn his former love and commitment for his country into hate for "Mother India" as this is the only way to cope with his deceived expectation that India would pay the demanded ransom to save at least his wife and his unborn child. His love for "Mother India" (he sarcastically terms India when talking to Pathan after the car crash) wasn't an unconditional one (or at least didn't stand the test for unconditional love).

We don't get to know about other terror acts Jim's group did for hire but we get to know that he is a well known figure in the terror scene.

Rubina also has a personal trauma involving a beloved person (her father) which makes her leaving the ISI and joining Jim's group. For her, it is a job she does (very well, btw) when she traps Pathan into stealing the code-named "Raktbeej" (= safflower). She is like one of those mythologic sirens who trie to trap through their calls Ulysses (and other seafarers) to their abode to kill them (the Besharam Rang song and the following fight to 'rescue' Pathaan).

Pathaan also is a strict secular movie as we get to know of nobody's religious belief. The only belief is in humanity. Rubina changes sides when she discovers that Jim's assignment is a crime against innocent human beings (humanity) and Pathaan himself (raised in India thus feeling as an Indian with India as his homeland but also getting an extended quasi-family through Afghan people) is painted as loyal to those he cared for him.

Those who really hates DP would say that she is just ornamental but thanks to the director, SRK and DP, she not only wears bikini to seduce men but does stunts gracefully. Her physique actually makes it believable that she can actually handle three men or more with her fighting skills.

No matter what outside IF there are many people who loves this combo and after 4 continues super hits I hope they do more movies together. Also I don't think DP flaunts more skin show than John. Man he in white shorts just flaunts his well maintained body.

That said I agree that Dp's character is poorly written. Maybe because of my beliefs I find it hard to trust an ex ISI agent. Also the reason for her patch up with Pathaan is not convincing. Would have been convincing whether they showed the process of her change rather than making it happen in one scene. Also though thier combination in certain scenes were good lacked their natural chemistry because their love story was rushed. But the scenario would be the same even if the best actress in the world played that character.

if there is another pathaan film Deepika may get a meatier role. I liked Kat in the second instalment how she rescued the imprisoned females. In part 1 her role was not that special

Srk deepika love story was a bit rushed

YRF easily could include into its SpyUniverse a movie where Deepika and Kat will be the leads. Both have great action-doing prowess and are a treat to watch in doing hot & hard hitting.

The love story between Pathaan and Rubina was just in the nascient stage and in any way, romance only was thought as a small ingredient (like SRK said in the "conversation" video). In Pathan, it was mainly about their collaborating 'chemistry' (don't like this word).

I wonder why you perceived her role this way. I felt the contrary. It was her reasoning why she finally went against Jim that revealed the main subject of the movie: avert a crime against humanity (all terrorist acts are crimes against humanity regardless what the terrorists give as reason, but here, this was clearly.expressed).

And no, her skin show had a purpose...she had to attract Pathaan. At the first view of the song, I got the feeling (and also wrote it), that she did an act for a male gaze. I only was mistaken with the assumption that one doesn't see the person who she was meant to attract thinking of Jim. Indeed, one doesn't see Jim (who isn't the target but the orderer and observer).

Of course, there is logic...in the movie's imagined reality, not in the audience's reality. In general, invented stories have their own logic (which one can appreciate as such or compare with life-reality).

Challenge me and tell me what wasn't logical...

As for 'copying'...action movies have a set of tropes, so most often, one will find similarities.

Pathaan was more enjoyable for me only Cos of SHAH presence

But movie war was better overall

I am going to see how long yrf and sidhart ananda last with this lame scripts , making them somewhat blazing on screens

Sooner or later they gonna run out of steam

After Pathan is Tiger 3 ? Then a team up movie ?
