Why is anupama serial showing educated and opinionated woman as vamps

Except women who bend before hubby (ex hubby in anupama case) and in laws(ex in laws)

Look at anupama she bends to ex hubby ex in laws so shes devi maa

Look at kinjal she accepted cheating hubby and does house work so is great

Look at kavya till she was not doing kitchen work and spoke frankly she was projected as a vamp

Look at devika just because shes divorced and stood up for anupam ashes a vamp kind of woman

Look at Malvika she did not allow vanraj to take advantage of her and steal her business and dresses modern so is a vamp kind although because shes anuj sister no one dares tell it on face

Look at nandini she asked justice for kavya and refused to stay in shahs home so samar threw engagement ring on her face

Barkha may not have right intentions but speaks truth mostly so shes vamp bhabhi as per maan

So what exactly this serial wants society to think - that educated modern western dressing woman who do not please in laws or hubby (ex in laws) always are all vamps

No wonder men say after rape why was she out at 9pm or why was she wearing western or modern dress? That means shes readily available to be raped by any random man on road. Why because films and serials have een showing this since 1940s only

Recently i was watching glimses of "aa ab laut chale" there hero akshya khanna traps a NRI rich US woman to get GC and than says shes a cheap woman because she drinks in parties with her friends and walks leaving her after roaming with her for months to Aishwarya Rai who never drinks and mostly wears indian dress in USA (can you believe any woman wearing indian dress at work in usa, they have dress codes to be followed)

In movie and serial after serial modern dressing educated woman are being shown as vamps who should be left for an not so educated lower class woman who have more values

Look at this serial, anuj kapdiya worships anupama like devi while he gives adamn to malvika his sister whose more modern and much more educated or to devika his friend and anuj regularly insults kavya whose an MBA and glares at barkha regularly but dare not bat an eye lid to Baa or anupama on grave mistakes as they are in saree and uneducated (very less educated)

I also find a funnier thing n this serial pakhi goes from modern woman to saree after wedding.

Is wearing saree a sign of purity or good human in serials and movies

Watch any movie before 2000s young modern girls falls in love wearing mindi skirts and midis but after marriage is always mostly in saree. Kareena as Poo suddenly starts doing bhajan and chudhidhar wearing after falling for hrithik while still in college.

Basically what these serial and movie showing again and again that modern and educated woman are unfit to be good wives or bahus only saree/indian wearing less educated woman are fit to be marraige material

Another thing in serials and movies taming of shrews by hero. Modern women are all vamps so hero has to change them by slapping them like kabir singh, or kidnap and molest them as wearing modern dress having strong opinion means hero can harass or molest you to change you to be better lover for him

In anupama all modern dressing educated opinionated woman are vamps or divorcee or try to break family etc

The majority of the viewers of these shows are uneducated and voiceless women. They feel empowered when they see educated and opinionated women losing. Unfortunately, people get the flavor of winning much more intensely when they see their competitors lose rather than when they win.

agreed except uneducated and voiceless

Bhai, in fact, many uneducated have a long and sharp tongue like Anupama di. For once educated will keep their mouth closed but illiterate ones never. deep down they have a complex but they will not try to work on that ... instead feels happy as if they are the winners seeing a smart or brainy losing the competition.

Because this concept hasn't aged well.

It was popular phenomenon around 70's and 80's and even major part of 90's that working women are not good, they are vamps as in "ghar todne wali aurat" because apparently an ideal women was defined as someone who considers pati as parmeshwar, follows him blindly, a homemaker and have sole responsibility to look after kids. Educated working women cant do all these things without help and they will not follow their husband blindly so the obvious conclusion was that educated women are vamps. If you will notice most films and serials or even ad commercial of that era then sarvgun sampann women, grah karya mein daksh kanya was all that were promoted.

Some similar concepts like body shaming, fat shaming, eve teasing, jokes on sexuality were very common in that era but now the society is much more sensitive towards these issues. Our cinema, tv shows have matured in this field. But unfortunately same courtsey has not extended in portrayal of women.

I have a question.. seriously..😊 I don't understand the meaning of homemaker.

Why homemaker word is not for working women? Do they not do household chores, and take care of kids and family? In fact, most of them teach their kids also after coming from the office.

Definitely a working woman is as much as homemaker as a woman who stays at home. But homemaker word was specially dedicated to use for house wife, thats the only thing.

Homemaker is a modern word. It has replaced the word 'housewife'. Because it was considered as demeaning of woman who looks after whole house and family. So to not demean the value of housewife because being one is as difficult as working in a office, these new words like homemaker and even homemanager was introduced in modern culture.

I know girls are expected to do house work from childhood in school and college only while men i mean brothers can play and study only

And once married you have to take care of husband his parents your kids plus work for 10 hours

Yet working women are not considered as house wives why?

Indeed they are making such drama about anupama working at home, she must look at 90s and early 2000s when concept of maid was less even in cities

Our mothers gen had a tough time as alone they have to take care of 2 to 3 kids plus hubby grandparents and a relative like brother in law and do all house work alone plus work 10 hours in office

They are making such a big issue of anupama serving shahs 26 years but she did only house work while many woman of her gen have worked 12 hours in office travelled 3 hours plus done all house work alone. Anupama work is hardly 30% of what our mother gen did alone

As far as i remember my mothers gen had to work from 5am to midnight non stop in office plus house with hardly anyone helping them at house work

Even anuj kapadiya or malvika themselves must be working 12 hours in office than doing all house work as they had no maids till anuj married

True true

they hate educated modern rich woman standing on own feet not depending on hubby or in laws or son and earning own money equal to men and who can dare call spade as spade everything woman like anupama or baa can never do in this life

anupama had a chance to do college now at 45 years set an example

But she has no interest or dedication look what happened to a short 3 month finnace course that only she refuses to attend everday and runs to shahs tamasha house so 3 years degree than 2 years masters etc is impossible plus learning basic english is only impossible way she behaves

Ridding on anuj wealth as malkin is her only desire

Pakhi has gone on anupama only wants easy way out without studies or work enjoy rich life

Television shows at large make the opinionated, educated, independent, strong women as vamps.

Most actors in these roles are extremely good and hence very convincing.

This, in the long run, dont you think is a process of opinion building? It is a very powerful and responsible medium. There cannot be space for Truth of Convenience🤷🏻‍♀️.
