Same here. I honestly liked Salman only in Barjatya films and AAA. I somehow stopped liking him after Judwa. And once I learnt of his real life issues and saw videos of his brawls with media or that hit and run case I stopped watching his films. I understand his stardom and appeal.
But I am totally disenchanted from him.
And I feel perturbed when I see male fans of young age idolise him or bash women or laugh off stories of abuse or call him man child or joke about new girls he gets year after year.
It is even more shocking when I see female fans defend Salman or bash women who alleged he abused them or claim Salman was never loved in real life or assume women use and throw him.
It is always telling of how society is when someone like SRK is doubted on his sexual orientation and masculinity but likes of Salman or Sanju baba are hailed as ultimate men or labeled bhai or baba fondly.
A properly behaved man is probably not even man enough while criminals are hot blooded males?
This is what I referred to in another post when I said how I had seen even patient, well behaved and non violent men being shamed or instigated by other older men for not being 'man enough' and egging them to abuse women, kids, younger men and control others or tell them others need to fear them or he needs to dominate others.
I have seen even guys who have no affairs or do no drugs or do not take alcohol or smoke or do not go out late at nights at pubs - being shamed or asked if they are even real men?
This is result of posterboys of toxic masculinity being lionised as heroes or real dabangg men or manly alpha men and shaming a well behaved man as boring or weak or soy boy or beta or doubting even their sexual orientation.
Disciplined men and boys are mocked by other men and sometimes women with internalised misogyny. While wayward ones have whole armies of fans defending them or their families portraying them as misunderstood man child with heart of gold.
