Victims of domestic abuse often go through a cycle of self-preservation and guilt. During their guilt phase, they forgive their abuser. It’s not just the physical abuse they endure, it’s the ever lasting mental trauma the abuser leaves behind on their psyche. So the victims tend to gaslight themselves even long after the relationship with the abuser has ended. I am not at all surprised Somi goes back and forth. In fact, that is exactly what makes me believe in her claims.

I believe her claims too.. she was just in her teens when she landed in India there is a possibility of her thinking she somehow deserve the abuse she's getting.. I really hope she finds her peace because don't think a closure is ever possible given the power dynamics between her n Salman.

A man of course, will always use excuses like 'sides of story' or 'more to a story' to obfuscate the issue.

Being cordial or non confrontational in public is what abuser does to keep own image and victim does to save oneself from any backlash. It does not mean there was no abuse.

Excuses are different from facts,

Which are different from accusations.

What is one trying to clearly address ?

I definitely agree there are other abusers. Just as most men are in real life too (no exaggeration, slapping wife or kicking kids or breaking things at home are common).

Verbal and emotional abuse are also common.

Haan har mard ke sir par 2 singh hote hain 👏

Masculinity shaming on this forum is reaching ridiculous proportions now 😆

The irony is , the same people who go after smaller fries with full force would either be fans/supporters of these kind of POSs or conveniently look the other way.

I just stated truth of what happens at most homes.

Not my problem if it hurts you.

Men beating wives, kids or even sisters, moms or abusing seniors or own siblings etc is common.

So much so that people consider it part of life or how a man behaves or part of masculinity or men think it is natural or being head of family or blame other members for provoking them or excuse it as taking out frustration of outside world on family or later deny what happened.

If all families indeed reported cases most m*n would be in jail. Men do not even think slapping or kicking or punching is abuse. Most of them think as long as there is no bleeding or breaking bones then beating family (especially wife, kids or younger siblings or in some cases even a dependent senior) is okay. Wife and kids get beaten for pettiest reasons. Siblings and seniors get attacked over property greed.

Plenty of reports and stats as well as real life lived experiences of both men and women on this who have seen older men behave this way at own or someone else's home. So spare me the fake victimhood of 'masculinity bashing'.

Wow 👏

Such beautiful thoughts for men ❤️

Not sure what men you've encountered in your life to be so bitter towards them, but here's one virtual jaadu ki jhappi to you 🌹

There are too many 'rumors' about Salman being abusive, and I do believe he probably is. I also hate that people cover it up and he hasn't faced any consequences for it.

SOME victims (Men or Women) who prevail can grow into predators 🤣

I just stated facts not thoughts. I have seen all sorts of men be it good, bad, patient or impatient, peaceful or rude or violent just like anyone else.

I am not afraid to state truth.

Enough of women and kids or youth being told to pretend nothing happens or tolerate shit behaviour as something normal or pretend it does not exist.

Most young boys learn misogyny, abuse or violence from older men or from men who provoke young men to be more aggressive and put women and kids or juniors or employees or kin 'in place' and call those males 'less manly' who are not violent or who live and let live, mind own business and do not impose themselves on others and do not howl or shout unnecessarily nor dictate others what to do.

I need no hugs. I am fine. Not my issue if people cannot see the mirror. Abusive behaviour is so normalised in Asian culture that most men do not even see where is the problem.
