Raosaheb is a shrewd man, wants to rejoice over the death of a woman who is the object of his son's affection..I don't fathom that how can Sarang act all cool and still plan to go ahead and bring Mukta home despite knowing his father's cruel intentions and the potential threat he will be to the woman he loves. Mukta should ask him if he can guarantee her the respect, love and protection in his house...Will he be able to convince others to accept her as their bahu only then should she decide to take the plunge!!

I don't find him shrewd (astute) at all! If any half-smart person was starting a business for his son to run, he wouldn't do anything to undermine his son's trust in him. He might insist that the alliance with Arya will go ahead, so that her father will invest in the business, but the right way to make Sarang choose Arya over Mukta is to trick Mukta into embarrassing or disgusting Sarang.

  1. Give Sarang's favourite expensive suit to Mukta to clean, and after she shrinks it in the washing machine, pretend that you told her to take it for dry cleaning, but she's too cheap.
  2. Tell Mukta to answer the phone, and when she can't write down the message in English, let Sarang try to pacify the frustrated business contact.
  3. Invite rich guests to the reception and coach Gaja to ask them embarrassing questions about their wealth. (Disclaimer: I would never suggest doing this to a mentally challenged person in real life; I am only imagining a villain's behaviour in fiction here.)
  4. Serve fancy food that Mukta doesn't know how to eat. Coax her to try a cold drink for the first time in her life, but give her a Long Island Iced Tea and get her falling-down-drunk. (Disclaimer: Alcohol is a carcinogen and slipping it to someone is assault; this would not be funny in real life.)
  5. Get Sarang's old school to invite him to speak and inspire other students to study abroad. Inopportunely reveal that his wife is a dropout, and instigate the students' parents to protest that Mukta's example teaches them to marry rich instead of staying in school.
  6. Keep Mukta distracted with Atmaram's asthma or Kanta Sheth's demands whenever Sarang tries to romance her.

Announcing his intention to murder Mukta was stupid, especially within earshot of Sarang. Even without announcing it, if Mukta died, Sarang's grief could make him inattentive to the business, and if he suspected that his father murdered her, he might stop talking to him about the business or disown him altogether.

Well Sarang fell for Mukta's simplicity, her sambal vadan , her righteousness, how many times has Mukta reasoned with him with regards to her social status, her caste, she not being of his layki, but despite everything he has accepted her with all her flaws...so no amount of embarrassment from Mukta is going to deter Sarang from not loving her..

Raosaheb is prejudiced and his opinions, views are subjective...He somehow wants to exercise his power, authority upon his people giving two hoots to the repercussions in future...

Since it's a Marathi TV show and Sarang is the romantic hero, you are right that Sarang's ideals of falling in love forever and accepting Mukta as his life partner will never falter.

However, in the real world, people do fall out of love when they discover that they don't have anything in common, or life is stressful and they take it out on each other. Sarang has trouble managing his hunger if he skips lunch, while Mukta wouldn't be able to read "Enjoy your meal!" on a microwave oven display. They could teach each other a lot, or not want to leave their own comfort zones. I hope we'll see a realistic progression.

We last saw Sarang buying cheap jewelry for Mukta. That was halfway through Saturday's episode. Monday's entire episode passed by without any progress in Sarang's movement towards Mukta.

Do you suppose his credit card is giving him trouble? Tap, swipe, insert ... ? What else could be delaying him so long?

The whole time Kanta Sheth and his lawyer were establishing that Bhakti is 18 years old and free to consent to marriage, no one asked Mukta why she has kuṅkū in her hair-parting!

When Kanta Sheth said that he went to Bhakti's school and got proof of her age, it reminded me of the 18-year-old girl who was learning trigonometry in an Alabama high school when the principal's office called her over the intercom because Roy Moore wanted to ask her out on a date.

I find Rāvasāheba cartoonish and his behaviour with Renuka has an incestuous creepy vibe. No actor's talent can salvage his scenes.

Vaijayanti, on the other hand, is fascinatingly complex. Her dialogues had too much poetic imagery for my taste in the context of this scene, but Suhas Paranjapye delivered them with amazing restraint. Her face, her voice, her body language were totally captivating.
