thanks for sharing your first impressions. sounds like it isn't a total trainwreck. haven't seen the episode yet but just some random ideas on the above points:

-- narmada hating imlie 2.0 is a nice twist and in a way, it makes sense. so these are just ideas based on episodes I did see. there was a good chunk where I stopped watching and simply read written updates. so narmada did have issues with imlie right after the marriage. however, some of the criticisms that narmada raised -- I felt they were fair and needed to be explored further. but that would mean imlie would have to be wrong and she is never wrong. so, nope that was all dropped ...🙄🙄

-- from what I remember: narmada felt aryan was giving too much but receiving little. she felt he was losing his way where his life was all about imlie's adventures. she was incredibly mad that he was getting hurt and injured because he was trying to protect imlie all the time. she was also mad at imlie as she felt imlie wasn't as focused on the rathore family and not as committed (in contrast to her first marriage where she clung to the tripathis).

-- now skip to the end, we had aryan take a 9 month break where he went back to work and had a life that was outside of imlie. he saw cheeni on the weekends and they seemed to be okay with him getting married to malini. maybe they felt malini and cheeni brought some much needed structure and order to his life after a period of utter chaos where he lost himself because of his feelings.

-- then, aryan and imlie got back together and he ended up dying. so imlie was the agent of chaos that brought her baggage and issues from prior relationship and her son ended up paying for it with his life -- now if we see it that lens, it may make sense why narmada will hate imlie 2.0. she might even see cheeni as another victim and malini perhaps pushed to madness.

-- she could also see imlie 2.0 as the bringer of bad luck who ultimately took the life of her son. so her vibe is such that she swallowed up her parents energy -- like how they say in some of these supernatural serials.

-- it could also be narmada sent away imlie 2.0 as she didn't want to be reminded of the loss of her son and she was brought up in PD with the financial support.

-- am guessing that it will be a thing and we will get some scenes from narmada explaining her view but that may be some of the feelings/reasons that are behind this hostility

-- as for imlie 2.0 having the same name -- odd but there are families who will give the name of a recently departed family member to the baby. maybe that is what happend. is imlie better than cheeku as a name on a school certificate? 😆 so is cheeni also called malini?
