Our tradition is that Bua gives the name. For me and my brother she only gave the names.

But for my children, hubby and I googled so many names and we both only finalized. But then we are complicated couple 😃😃 I don’t know what happens these days.

True, it was the same for me as well, my bua named us (In discussion with parents) and based on Rashi but now we are in 2022, traditions/rituals change, hubby/I named our kids. Just saying coz aisa everyone blurting out names I've never seen - i mean ever!

Exactly. Also the pundit says what should be the first letter (akshar) of the name, based on that they decide.
