Hello folks! I was shifting, so had no time to write a detailed post. Nevertheless I have been following all discussions on this thread, which have been a joy to read❤️

The episode was unexpected to say the least. I didn’t expect for Sadia to come back and then die. I would like to begin by saying that Basit paying heed to Ayesha’s advice and seeking out his mother is a major positive of the episode. It shows that he cares about her opinion and has started listening to her. But the next scene was a shocker, I didn’t expect Sadia to die while reading his letter. But I would definitely commend the director on the subtlety of the scene. Nowhere does he go OTT.

Basit’s emotions in the entire episode were palpable- be it his grief or regret. Feroze has done an excellent job. Ushna’s makeup at the funeral and even afterwards was totally on point. It showed that she was grief struck and exhausted.

Coming to the most discussed issue of whether Ayesha was right to call out Basit in front of everyone- I personally was quite taken aback with her lashing out at him. Not for the reason that I believe part of what she said was wrong but because she should not have done this so publically and so soon when Basit’s emotional pain was evident. But then I gave it a few days and realised that Sadia was the mother figure Ayesha may have always craved. Sadia gave Ayesha love, acceptance, encouragement especially at a time when she’s entered a new home to live with a partner who can be callous and cold. I think she wanted both Sadia and Basit to reconcile not for Basit but for Sadia. She has witnessed Sadia’s pain and need for her son. But she had never truly knew what Basit went through to turn so bitter with his mother. I think you need to go through some trauma or pain to appreciate another person’s pain or journey of healing. Although I expected Ayesha to be slightly more mature and patient, I felt that perhaps the writer wanted to highlight Ayesha’s imperfections or the fact that she’s as new to relationships as Basit and this story is not one where the wife is a self sacrificing character and the husband does no work on the relationship and simply exists. They both need to work hard to understand each other.

That being said, this does not mean that Ayesha doesn’t care about Basit. She does, despite being angry with him she asks him for food, worries when he doesn’t open the door and even calls his friend knowing that only he can convince Basit to open it. Ayesha’s relief in the scene was heart touching. I loved Basit opening up to Ayesha about his grief. I loved how Ayesha asked for an apology as soon as she realised that she crossed the line. What I like about this show is that Basit didn’t yell at Ayesha or tell her to mind her own business, he somewhat understood Ayesha’s attachment to his mother and was even trying to justify his previous actions to convince Ayesha that he’s not heartless. Basit’s comment to Fahad that only he understands him was a subtle dig at Ayesha. It shows that Basit cares about Ayesha’s opinion of him. I feel that internally Basit is still that child who craves love and acceptance (especially from the female familial figures).

Coming to my favourite scene of the whole episode- the kitchen scene. I loved how Basit looked curious or was it unhappy about what Fahad was doing in the kitchen with Ayesha. That scene was adorable, especially with Basit and Ayesha smiling when Fahad playfully calls out Basit for not helping Ayesha in the kitchen. What I loved about the scene is the progression in Ayesha and Basit’s relationship. We have seen how Basit used to tell Ayesha that it’s not your job every time she tried to do something remotely domestic. Here we see Ayesha truly looking at home and cooking in the kitchen (I think the credit goes to Sadia for helping in the transition). We also witness how Basit walks into the kitchen and comfortably stands next to Ayesha without pointing out that this is not her job. I think he’s slowly accepting her in the house.

Fahad and Bano are definitely happening and Fahad will be the most adorable partner ever. I love Bano’s professionalism. I’m also curious about the progression in Basit and Bano’s relationship. In fact I would love to see Basit showing brotherly protectiveness towards Bano.

There is something so attractive about Basit as a boss, he has a certain charisma🥰

Can we please discuss the kitchen scene a little more? What was the look that Basit had while talking on the phone and looking at Fahad and Ayesha working together. Something tells me that the old Basit would have never been curious or even entered the kitchen, instead he would’ve continued to take the business call, remember the dinner? But this Basit has changed. Was he slightly insecure or simply curious? What do you guys think?

About basit:

1. The one who was forced to face critical decisions throughout his life without his consent

Starting from his mother left him then meeting her after his father's death and he should live with her after all these years!

Finally was his marriage.

He was very anxious to fulfill the will so that he could eventually take his decisions and he was telling fahad how happy he was while taking work decisions

2. His perspective about woman doesn't affect his kindness as we saw he helped ayesha financially earlier also, he respects ayesha obviously away from emotions that should be existed between husband and wife

3. He is responsive. Yeah he responded to ayesha inquiries many times

For example, When she talked about his way to treat her family he changed completely

Even with his mother issue, he went to her room in the morning as pet ayesha request

Also, in the last episode he responded to ayesha scolding and opened up to her about his injuries and feeling about his mother

4. He is caring but he doesn't pay attention to show his care unless he was notified to do that

Maybe as per his childhood when he lost the most caring person in the life of everybody who is his mother so he doesn't learn how caring been demonstrated

5. He is admitting his mistakes (that's a part also of his responsiveness to advices and inquiries) as he apologized to ayesha many times and admitting that he doesn't know much about relationships and needs time. Where here I really blame ayesha to not give him this time (I will talk about it later)

I think his good points weigh higher than his bad points.

His behaviour towards his mother is considered normal as per his character. How?

He kept his anger towards his mother all these years, whatever the reason for her leave for him it's nothing compared to his pain so no justifications would satisfy him

If you notice at the beginning he always scolded her individually to not interfere with his life

Then he started to do it in front of everyone

At the first he always scolded her only

Then his scolding was imbeded with blaming at the time of birthday

I thought his anger would have faded gradually as long as his mother remaining with them and with decreasing pressure inside him through time

But unfortunately he also hadn't get enough time to maintain his relation with his mother for the second and last time

I think this will make a great turning point in his life I still don't know it will be positive or negative impact but it's clear that it wouldn't be totally positive easily to have more conflicts to come in the show.

His behaviour towards ayesha is very justified to me

I rembered ayesha once said to basit when she was mad at him through the way he treated her family and said everything was clear to you about my family from the beginning

I want her to have the same idea about herself she knows initially that it was forced marriage and the reason was clear so she shouldn't expect much from him from the beginning and should observe the changes and progress happened not only talked about one situation

Moreover he didn't use her as her later said it's my responsibility to fulfill this marriage I'm not selfish

In addition to all the above points, there is something I want basit to handle with ayesha whic is the work subject especially now even his mother had died and ayesha has no one to share the daily life with so may be study or work will help her

That's from me about basit with being highly excited to know the rest of his story and relationship with ayesha with all the challenges surrounding them

Hmm...so I see it a bit differently. I know the way Ayesha is behaving towards Basit now, she will regret later. But as for dismissing his feelings,.I think she has her own idea of what Basit is feeling. This has already been discussed in the thread, the reasons why Ayesha is behaving the way she is...but to put it briefly, she herself is a daughter who consistently keeps forgiving her mother for horrible selfish acts. She is fresh out of college...just finished her UG...which means she lacks the steadiness age brings and is quick to judge and form opinions. Basit has presented a front to her of cold aloofness till now. She has formed her opinion of him based on that, his rudeness to his mom, his indifference to how his words or actions hurt not only Sadia but Ayesha as well...she doesn't see the way we notice Basit feeling bad or crying after hurting Ayesha or Sadia. So her actions are based on her experience and knowledge of the situation. The more she will understand Basit, the more she will regret her present behaviour ...which is perfect in my eyes since it will produce great angsty scenes.

And I think Basit will get a bit jealous over Ayesha's attention, her smiles, her ability to open up and talk to others while not doing the same with him maybe...but I don't think he will suspect her of an affair...but who knows...I am telling myself to Stay Calm and trust in Musaddiq Malek

Am really so so thankful to you for telling me about this show Ani...it is seriously far above any other drama I have watched in a while.

We’re on different page here it seems😆

I agree with your points yes but I still think she could’ve done better. I of course don’t expect her to be flawless or anything but even as a UG the least she can do is be more empathetic towards Basit and respect his feelings if not understand. That’s basic human nature/decency no?

I think comparing her mother to Basit’s is not right tbh. No matter what her mother did, at the end of the day she had her mother by her side, she knew her mom cares for her in her own twisted ways, she had a fairly happy childhood...but for Basit, the case was completely opposite. He grewup without his mom, constantly yearning for her and grew up with the notion that his mom left him when he needed her the most. Ayesha is able to forgive her mom coz she knows deep down her mom cares for her and she had no such childhood trauma as Basit. Basit on the other hand, can’t forgive his mom coz he still thinks(or thought) she’s a selfish woman who left him at a tender age and only returned to get the property. What comes naturally and easily to Ayesha, doesn’t come to Basit so naturally and easily coz they’re two different individuals. So judging him by her pov(that I can forgive my mom so why can’t he) is where she’s wrong. And that’s what she needs to realise. We all are different, we all process situations differently, we all recover from traumas differently and at different time and that’s perfectly alright. What comes naturally to me may not come so naturally to someone else, we all have the right to feel what we want to feel about a situation/person. Unless and until she realises this, no matter how close they become, no matter how much he pours his heart out she’ll never understand him and keep on projecting her feelings on him(I mean she was even ready to defend her wrong behaviour in the name of “my feelings” when Fahad called her out. Thankfully, she stopped before saying anything else.)

I know, I’m being harsh on her here but I gotta say it...it’s people like Ayesha and their dismissive behaviour which discourages people who're suffering from mental health issues to open up. Why should Basit open up to her and let her come closer to him when this is how she behaves towards his traumas? If anything, it’ll makes him shut down all the more. The way she’s going about the whole thing, I’m afraid she’ll unintentionally guiltrip him into thinking that his feelings and traumas aren’t valid!

Having said all those, I know she’ll come around...she has to after all she’s the heroine 😆😳

Girl!!!! You’ve already thanked me a million times by now❤️ 😳 You’ll make me blush at this rate🙈😆 I’m really glad you gave the show a try as soon as you heard the name🤗 Like, I said before, Basit is the only Firoz character I ever liked So I had to advocate for his character and the show😆 And twer, it’s a pleasure to discuss with you about anything, really 🤗 ❤️

Very good question dear ❤️

I have replayed this scene many times because the message behind it was so impressive

Well first of all, basit went to kitchen has nothing to do with fahad

Secondly, at the time of extreme grieve and sadness where every thought brings additional pain and you feel restless in all ways

You always strike for a moment of relieve where you feel completely comfortable

I think basit went to ayesha because he wants to be with her at this moment that it would make him comfortable to be beside his wife who makes food for him (maybe it gives him the feeling of warmth)

In addition to, I remembered when she said to him that I was so shy to be alone with your friend and you don't want to appear with me in front of your friend so may be he wanted to be with her in the same frame like he is proud husband

And as per basit stubbornness he couldn't help to come to her but he never say a word to her or direct his face to her instead he was always directed to fahad but this didn't hide the fact that he wanted to be beside his wife at this moment

That's my imagination and I'm really curious to know everyone's thoughts

This is literally the reason why I liked Basit in the first place. Unlike so many other heroes, he didn’t went on a rampage on every woman he met just coz one particular woman did him wrong. This makes him standout from the rest

Basit and Ayesha are obviously the top tier stuff for me...angst and love, torment and solace, passion and restraint, desire and misunderstandings...etc etc

And amidst the storm that is their relationship, let us have the calm sweet heartwarming coming together of Fahad and Bano...A story of a loving man in whose affection Bano will finally find her resting place in this world that has till now only taken from her.

😆

I should figure out first how to do that 😆😆

But here you are all welcome to use it.

Both love stories are just beautiful. And honestly... I want you to write on both couples too.. I hope inspiration will come to you soon, and time!.

Imo the kitchen scene comes a little while after the death ..ayesha was smiling n completely normal.. few days have passed by ..

Why was basit affected ? I think he was curious to see Ayesha smiling ..coz she never smiles when she is with him So he might have come down to the kitchen to know what's up with her.

At this point , jealousy , mu will be so wrong . They don't know each other enuf to be doing all this . At least the writer cud have shown ayet getting close n falling in love 🥰

The kitchen scene was a nice feel-good moment we got in between all the angst of the episode. I loved seeing Ayesha move around so freely and confidently in the kitchen. Even that scene when she wakes up on the sofa...the way she talks so naturally to the female help. This is what Sadia did for her...made her feel that this house is hers too. 😳👏

Anyways, my theory of why Basit came down is because he saw Ayesha smiling and having a good time. Normally, he always sees her in depressed mode or sulky mode. So, his curiosity brought him to the kitchen. Plus, he is still grieving. Maybe he wanted to surround himself with some joy after feeling down for too long.

@bold: I want to see more office scenes. I want to see Bano working with full sincerity and Basit getting impressed and Jawaad getting jealous😆 I want Basit and Bano to have some mutual appreciation for each other. Bano should realise her sister's husband is a good guy with a pure heart. And Basit should realise the struggles faced by Ayesha's family. Only then he will really respect Bano for the force she is!

I totally ship Fahad and Bano together. But I am in no hurry to see them happen so soon. Let's give it time and not get too excited and rush it.
