I think they made Ayesha completely dismiss Basit’s grief only to Kay the foundation of Basit’s misunderstanding her next week, now Basit knows that Ayesha thinks he’s heartless and bad 😆, so it takes him pretty much nothing to think that she can easily choose someone nicer than him, however if Ayesha wouldn’t behave the way she did then Basit probably would never have the insecurities of thinking she can leave him for someone better and zero trauma ..

It's stupid . Period. Ayesha sympathizes with sadia but she can't sympathize wirh basit ,or understand his grief , trauma , pain

Ayesha can forgive her mom but not basit . She learnt to be patient with her mom but not basit. She will have to show some empathy and love to basit otherwise the balance will be lost..bec he is trying , we can all see..

Anybody with a sane mind can understand that basit is very needy emotionally . He needs a lot of reassurance , validation , love and support , not just verbally but in actions , and for a long period of time , till his faith in relationships is restored and some stability is achieved. And it's ayesha who will have to take the first step , infact steps ..basit will come around but he will need time. If Ayesha is looking for something else , like ddlj in her life , she will be disappointed.

Basit and Ayesha are obviously the top tier stuff for me...angst and love, torment and solace, passion and restraint, desire and misunderstandings...etc etc

And amidst the storm that is their relationship, let us have the calm sweet heartwarming coming together of Fahad and Bano...A story of a loving man in whose affection Bano will finally find her resting place in this world that has till now only taken from her.

I don't expect her to keep quite and support him , what I expect from her is to not dismiss him publicly. When he was pouring his heart out in the study, she could have made him realize that it's imp to forgive and move on..rather than tell him that he was 100% wrong . This is when sadia only talked about basit all this while ...sadia kept explaining her why he is reacting like this , and that she must never leave him bec she is responsible for his coldness , his insecurities and his issues ..Basically telling her to be patient . If I ignore this epi as a once in a while thing bec ayesha also loved sadia , and then bano, basit himself and then fahad requested her to not blame basit , she is onto it again in the next episode precap Basit aisa basit vaisa.

Is she punishing him for sadia or is she punishing him for being what he is ?

I understand you dear about what all you said but still our personalities will dominate our behaviors in many situations especially with zero experience woman like ayesha regarding her relationship with basit

Don't forget that ayesha is also UNSTABLE and confused about this relationship

She is already frustrated from basit way of treating her and she felt herself pressurized with this relationship that she doesn't know her actual place in it, that's why I couldn't expect her to act normally and change easily

As she said she always found basit is someone who doesn't care about anyone or anything except himself

On the other hand, I could take the situation with different side that when someone is sad about other he could react in two different ways

Either being supportive and trying to console the affected ones despite their mistakes (that's not the case with ayesha - that's us as the audience)

Or being always on the blaming mode and venting what they feel out of their frustration and this is ayesha. I could feel she said these taunts because inside her also she felt sad that basit lost his chance to reunite with his mother

She wanted so much to see them reunited just like us but the chance is irreversibly lost so out of frustration and sadness she vent her anger on him because in her eyes he is the responsible

Well she won't relate to his previous pain in his childhood because she witnessed only the trials of his mother and her longing to make him happy

Also, she witnessed his love and longing to his mother but still she considered that his stubbornness is the cause to lose this important chance

That's why I justified her behaviour as a part of the whole story not as per my personality and sympathy with basit character

For your question I believe that ayesha is way simple to punish anyone she has no intention to punish him rather she express her disappointment on him because he has no other chance to reunite with his mother I mean her behaviour isn't intended to impact him negatively it's from the bottom of her heart which being full.of sadness and frustration from the first day she entered his life as his wife and how she was always uncomfortable in this relationship

Nothing she wanted and she got as per her perspective starting from (self respect)

You will find the fandom quite divided on this issue. While some want Ayesha to treat Basit with kid gloves, I found her behaviour like you put it logical and in keeping with her characters experiences and knowledge of Basit and his mom.

Won't go into all of that since it has been discussed in the thread already. But I really appreciate this post because you actually trace the small moments that have laid the foundation for Ayesha's opinion of Basit. Just want to add that even at the birthday party, while Ayesha did not say anything, when Basit turned to her and asked her to join him in cutting the cake, she refused. She had happily agreed the first time but not after what he did. Even at the morning breakfast table when he yells at Sadia for sending Kareem home, she leaves as soon as he starts talking about morality etc...it makes her uncomfortable to hear him talk to his mother in such terms.

Also while she is angry at Basit and her own grief is making her hit out at him, you see her underlying concern for him as well. She comes to find him to ask him to eat though she is very angry at him at the time. When she wakes up next morning the first thing she asks is Basit's whereabouts. She gets Fahad to stay for lunch because she wants Basit to eat something. Even when she is angry at him, she is concerned about him.

And you are right..she is not saying those things to deliberately hurt Basit. And we already see her getting good advice. I think the next episode will build on that...possibly through Bano and Fahad talking to her about Basit.

I don't think the jealousy track will move in a conventional way...but let us see...we can discuss that separately maybe.
