I was getting frustrated with Basit throughout the episode, but I realize this is how Basit is. I didn't like him yelling at Ayesha due to the envelopes. Poor thing was so scared. He literally said that he is giving her salary...really Basit? Even in the teaser, he is questioning why Ayesha has a problem with accepting money (I assume, large amount) from him while she doesn't mind working for a small amount. He really doesn't comprehend that people with less money than him still have dignity and self-respect. I know Ayesha's mom reinforces his thinking. But, he should know Ayesha is not like that.

But then these last scenes just make my heart flutter....they do this with every episode. I am all for slow burn romance. I love watching gradual development in love story. I just can't watch stories where they fall in love at first sight or suddenly. I don't expect overnight change in Basit. I am glad they are showing all aspects of Basit. I can understand him getting awkward with Ayesha buying things for him or serving him. I am ready take this behavior right now as long as I get a good character evolution and development. so bring it on....

I do want Basit to get the unconditional love that he craves. I want him to be able learn to trust people...especially women. I want Ayesha to achieve her dreams. I don't know if they will even explore this in the drama, but once they start opening up to each other, I want Basit to know how she had to give up her dream and support her to complete her education.

I didn't like Basit's mom pressuring Ayesha to not leave her son so that he is not broken. Actually I never understood her story. Basit's parents separated because it was a love less marriage? Did she marry someone else after? Then where is the husband? So Basit's father requested to keep Basit, but she could have still been a part of his life, she could continue to meet him and spend time with him...especially when both parents would see how the abandonment has badly affected him.

Hey sourdough, I think you’ve mistaken, he didn’t say that he’s giving her salary, he infact clarified to Ayesha that he’s not giving it as her salary but to fulfill her responsibilities. I think I understood that from the scene

Initially he did say salary samajh le...then when she told him that she doesn't need to be paid for fulfilling her duties as his wife, he changed tack and said this is not salary...it actually makes sense because we know that Basit has been raised in a way where he never had to consider the feelings of others while dealing with them when it came to personal relationships. So it makes sense that he doesn't know how to word things.

ohh I think I misinterpreted the initial thing then, as far as I remember he said the amount is as much as your salary was, so technically we can interpret it in both ways. Also, he could’ve given her more money than her monthly pay and still asked to do her duties but maybe he didn’t because Basit knows and appreciates the dignity she has, his behavior is shaky so she doesn’t realize that deep in his heart he does acknowledge that she’s not greedy, hence the amount was only as much as she was earning to not hurt her ego or sth?

I really like how even though he dislikes her mother’s personality and he knows that Ayesha isn’t like them, he’s just unable to figure out a way to normalize the situation and normalize that he has a girl around him 24/7 who is tied to him. I just love the way he’s written, I think a character like Basit is not written in pak dramas, finally not a grey or fully negative or fully spineless male lead, he’s a dignified, flawed, yet charming and justified one. Otherwise all the current shows have either totally negative or totally spineless male leads, there’s no middle ground.

I think Basit is someone who doesn't really has the power to see things from another person's perspective. We have seen this repeatedly earlier as well. He doesn't really consider the feelings of others unless he has to gain from them like in a business negotiation scenario.

@bold Very true.. In fact I think every single character in this drama has been very well thought out. And especially when it comes to male leads, Basit is truly wonderfully crafted. The fact that his issues have been contextualised within a framework of mental health makes him such a believable character. You can see his awkwardness in this new relationship and understand exactly why he is like that. His surprise at Ayesha serving him food had an element of pathos in it because he has grown up used to being alone...Perhaps eating his meals on his own since his father must have been quite busy.

Actually he told her to think of it as salary....and I am simply pointing it out as want to see a gradual change in his thought process as he falls for her.

how did you like the episode today?

It was good but drama is quite slow. I want romance to bloom between basit and Ayesha soon.

The salary scene needs a lot of thought. He called it salary (oh I am glad they weren't divorce papers😆) bec he couldn't have said "this is the money , go give it to your family " . Basically he is giving it to her in the form of salary to keep her dignity and self respect intact ..as she stressed on the fact that she needs to work to keep her family expenses met....she doesn't have to work also and she will get paid by the office. Simple...but he really faltered as he got it all wrong . He can't understand why ayesha has to work and support her family when he is there for them. This topic will be taken up in the next epi also so I will wait. His mind is prejudiced ..like he knows it's a ruthless world , he knows how each and every person around him truly is, but ayesha surprises him every single time 😆

I am more and more skeptical abt this whole thing , the 75 lakh truth will be blown out of proportion by ayesha the way things r going . She is so sad thinking that meri majboori ka Sauda kiya hai basit ne , mujhe ghar bithane ke paise offer kiye etc etc . The girl is too pure hearted .she is so much hurt with his words and actions yet she wants to keep trying ..ah that dialogue of hers "meri sari khushfehmi door kar di " 😒 She makes me cry.

Anyways I love the dynamics here..she is making him confront the vital issues like why is she here what's her status in his life what's in store for them , everyday ☺ and he is flustered by her in his own way 🥰 Lage raho

I also loved how he gave her money, not as a Salary but to take care of her responsibilities, even though I felt Ayesha misunderstood him here, he was only trying to help, but from Basit’s POV he didn’t need to do that as he knows he has already given her mother enough money to survive but he still does it to ensure that Ayesha knows that her responsibilities or demands to secure her family’s food and shelter will be met.

This show is more about how innocent people can forgive their mothers and move on, please both the mothers need help, Sadia thinks she’s tried a lot to reconcile with Basit? What trying did she do? WTH 🤣. Someone tell her, forcing your son to marry and selecting wedding sherwani isn’t part of the trying you do to fix a patient with anxiety and abandonment issues. All he needed was love and assurance but no he was made to feel like he has no right in anything if he does not bring a wife, the boy definitely deserves better. I dislike Sadia more, atleast Qudsiya doesn’t do self pity 🤪

Arre pl do find time for us, your insights are a treat ..I mean nobody understands these characters better than you yaar..I can still never understand Farhad but when I looked at him with your perspective it totally made sense 😃

Basit doesn't have to support them any further as he has paid 75 lakhs but I guess it's a part of the deal..she asked for the house for which he paid 75 lakhs and lifelong support , which he is giving to Ayesha, that's a good thing actually. Salary issue I have already mentioned but he basically does this bec Ayesha doesn't know anything abt 75 lakhs.

Naii yaar I like sadia anyday ..she is responsible for his issues but she is also extremely guilty , realizes her mistakes and trying to correct them ..the fact that basits father trusted her over basit says a lot ..he was confident that basit will accept her slowly and forgive her as he grows mature . But for that it's imp to give her a second chance. He kinda forced basit to marry and accept his mom but in the long run, it's for basit and his well being ..

From what I gathered , his mom wasn't happy in the marriage and his father freed her..divorced her..I don't think there was a third angle ..sadia walked away as she wasn't happy ..there is no mention of her 2nd husband or a family , if I am correct . She must be an independent working woman , but why couldn't she be a part of his upbringing is a mystery ..although thy were divorced but they were cordial..n his father entrusted her with the responsibility of basits marriage and property transfer , that says a lot..they were on good terms.
