I agree with you. I watched the show to cheer Anupama on her growth and future. But she is a masochist and she doesnt want to get out of the abusive situation and remain a martyr all her life.

A show is watched for a good feel factor and see the ups and downs of life of the main pratagonist and not to highlight her holier than thou attitude and being a sacrificial lamb for a family who do not care for her at all.

A self empowered woman would never accept the shit ditched by her so called family whether her parents or kids. The show tells you that your middle class values will never leave you however modern and strong one may become. it has become disgusting to watch the crying/sacrificing Anupama and her Joru ka Ghulam Anuj

So it is bye bye for me also

friends, foes and most importantly silent readers :

im out. i cant watch this show anymore, nor do i want to talk about it. i should have realized the effect it was having on me when i could not bring myself to watch it for 20 mins a day. watching this show is akin to doing my least favourite chore, stubbing my toe or drinking a vile cough syrup.

this show has nothing to offer anyone. you dont need to be a pseudo-intellectual to figure that out. the spirit of this forum has completely deteriorated because the atrocities are hard to digest. we are a broken record in here and it's been going on for months.

i can't sit here and keep pretending "it's just a show".

we are sitting here watching a show with no hope, no promise and NO MESSAGE. (or a poor one).

but, unlike Anupamaa, we have control over our lives. DKP et al aren't writing our stories. we are.

There are many women in this forum who are beaten, called names, ignored, disregarded, raped, vilified, pushed, pulled, manipulated by their husbands, boyfriends, in-laws, children and even their own parents.

And I know these women will read this, so hear me when I say :

YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS PAIN.

there is help. there are resources. there are people who want to listen to you; free of charge. they wont judge or question you.

i dont want this to sound tone-deaf or fake woke. no, positive affirmation isnt going to fix your life overnight. this isn't an akshay kumar movie.

to act outside of your sensibilities and surroundings is a herculean task for any of us. only you know how bad it gets and how you are making it through each day. maybe you cant imagine packing up and leaving in the middle of the night and that's ok. baby steps. start somewhere. start with believing that you are worthy of respect, happiness and peace. and stop watching the most triggering show of all time for women aged 12-65, in every country you can name.

anyways, it's been a pleasure interacting with everyone here and for those who want to keep in touch (or need a friend), don't be shy, send me a message.

Love,

Ali 💕
