Everyone's opinion will be right here 👍🏼

Okay I am not an expert on this subject nor I can say I have full knowledge of the shows. The shows I have watched are very few from 2010-2022. It's just my views:-

DMG-few months(after off air)

MJHT-few months(after off air)

Geet-few weeks(after off air)

Sasural genda fool-till leads wedding

BALH1 -Till ram priya confessed

KHKT-1 months

The only show I watched full was IPK.

For me iconic shows are DMG, MJHT, GEET&IPK.There may have other iconic shows in all these years as definition of iconic is diff for diff person. For me they are these four.

there are few points in which I think show now a days are lacking

1) Too many villians-those days as these were love stories either there were 1 or 2 villian or none.Even they increased when the main part of show aka love story was done n dusted so it didn't mattered that much.Shows now a days have too many villian or conspirators. Look at CM there is dadji, amber, supreet, chachi, goldie & there will be more

2) Show revolved around leads- Whether it was good or bad somehow the episode revolved around leads which mattered the most to fans.

3) Bearable family stories and actor - comparing today side stories were more bearable. Although the bullet points are same even now, either it was the actors or it was writers who toned down and made stories bearable than today.

4) lead couple's chemistry & acting- Either it was universe's conspiracy or creator's magic leads were so very well matched. Both in chem and acting.Just remember the leads of above shows .Obviously not 100% was satisfied by them but 90% admitted they were good.

In this field Gul & Ekta are the masters. Not everyone has that eye when casting leads for a show. Call their stories crap but jodi selection is on point minus few disasters😛

This is not bashing and no offense to fans but I will say both Karan and niyati are lacking in acting. Niyati even more. The spunk you need in angry scenes are missing and the makers are making worse with constant family gyan and ott dialogues. As it's only 3rd week and we have only seen angry and crying scenes she is just okay in both of them. There is another test of romantic scenes.

Karan on the other hand needs to tone down his anger quotient. I am one of the first ones who had prbs with his popping veins and I am still not satisfied. But I know he will do good in comedy & romantic scenes.

I will still give them a month or till love story start to give my final verdict.

6) Viewer-May be all this doesnt matter I ,myself is responsible for not liking the show to that level🤪.i am not the same person as the time of those shows. The scenes which were gushy ones are now cringey.

When I see people going ooo la la on Twitter and here I am cringing on the same ones it makes me think what if the fault is in me only????

Iconicshows– in my opinion varies from person to person. What makes a show/love story iconic also varies depending on the individual.

Madhubala: I enjoyed it very much and I do believe it was crazy hit when it was around. There are many other shows where couples have had so much chemistry that they are a craze long after the show is over. I don’t know if the shows I’m mentioning were hit or not but their jodi’s are everywhere still.

Toname a few: Ishqbaaz, Choti Sardarni, Qubool Hai, Ishq Subhanallah, etc, etc, etc…

Too many villians: OMG, yes!! What is up with so much negativity and toxicity in a show? Why does one watch a show? Me, to take a break from the real world. I really do not want to watch so much negativity. Villains get way more screen time than I would like.

Chemistry/Acting: So far, Niyati has impressed me more than Wahi. Maybe I prefer Ginni to Aditya!

Karan definitely needs to tone his anger portrayal. His strained veins are distracting. He is toning down, so I’m good. I believe giving them time to get into the skin of characters is important. Heck, we get 90 days probation for work. So, am giving them 3 months!!

These two have chemistry, a lot of chemistry, there is no doubt about it. It doesn’t show up much because presently, I find Adi despicable!!

We have so many negative characters and now Adi and Armaan are added to the list. I swear, how is one supposed to enjoy the chemistry when Adi physically hurt Ginni in 2nd week of the show?

The anger has totally overshadowed the chemistry, that even the slightest cliché scene that I love, isn’t bringing me as much joy as it should!!

Me as a Viewer: I have most definitely different tastes than what I used to have a decade or so ago. Some things are absolutely cringeworthy. The trick for me is to watch a romantic sequence that is classy and well executed!! I am not a teen or young adult that anything would work for me(like it used to when I was at that age). I love romance and it’s gotta be done right. I absolutely despise the grabbing, twisting of arms!! That is not romance, that is ABUSE!!

There is a fine line and I don’t want the PH to cross it. They have already done it once and I despised it and Adi is a villain in his own damned love story!!

Feedback: Maker’s need to add some light hearted fun moments. There is way too much angst, (not with the leads but everyone else), roiling anger, not just anger. To temper it down and make the show entertaining, we need Adi-Ginni fun scenes. Scenes that are sweet like their first meet with the Chai. I love meet cute and I think it can be served decadently!! They have two absolutely gorgeous actors who have natural chemistry!! Utilize it and well!!

Phew…sorry thora zyada likhdiya

Good post, I'll be back with my comment.

I think iconic really varies. But if I were to list some of the iconic ITV shows these will be following. Note I haven't watched all of them, but some still make it to the list because of how loved they are.

1. IPK season 1 (I think there is no dispute surrounding this one 😆)

2. DMG

3. EKHMMBH

4. Geet

Now, others may may not be iconic but can still be loved by a lot if people.

1) Completely agree! Too many villains with too much screen space... kuch toh positivity lao show mein!

2) I think these days too a few shows do still manage to revolve around the leads.

3) Yeh point samajh mein nahi aaya so I am gonna skip commenting on this 🤪

4) Yes, yes and yes. While I personally find it hard to stick to an ITV show if the storyline has gone to the dumps. But there is a lot of impracticality and sh*tty storyline I will take before I leave the show if the actors and chemistry is very good!

I think Gul and Ekta have a good name because they simply have dished out so many shows that some simply happen to hit the mark. Some are genuinely terrible in terms of chemistry and make me question who took their screen test 😆

5) Everyone has their opinions. I wouldn't say they are bad actors, they are pretty decent (I have seen some that make it difficult to even watch the show 😆) Pluse the chemistry really works in their favour!

6) Tastes change and different people will like different things. The main problem I have with this show is the VFX and editing. Like please hire a decent editing team. Montage itna achha and episodes ki editing itni buri

I would like to see a show where the FL is a don ( indirectly - gangster - gundi). From a middle class background. Acts like a boss. Bullying others but good in heart. A Robinhood in nature. Steals from the rich and donates to the poor

A strong woman who sends cruel aunties on a roller coaster ride. Knows martial arts. Karate, judo , phuto everything. Beats up men who abuses their wives. MILs who tortured their bahus. Fights to protect women and the poor and tai tai pis the rich ones.

A crazy funny type. A little clumsy.

And beautiful.

The ML rich educated sane and sensible. Respects the olders. Soft spoken. Totally opposite of the FL. Emphasis on rules and regulation. Always abide the law. A gd citizen. But he has a shrewd family. Good parents but naughty cousins, shrewd uncles and aunties. A big family.

How they met

He caught her stealing in his house. Well, she's a robin hood. She targets nasty rich people. She bumps into his cruel aunt at a mall throwing tantrums at some roadside beggars. She decided to teach that woman a lesson and goes to rob her place not realizing she has a hot nephew.

She sneaks into his house trying to get hold of the safety locker. Looks in every room. Reaches his. He was in the shower. Realized someone coming. Asked for a towel as he forgot to take it along. Hilarious moment, she will be passing him the towel and slips into his arms. Then he chases her around the hse half naked only clad in a towel. No one at home. Finally she goes to the kitchen takes a knife and points at him. I will chop ur **** if u come closer. He demanded for her entry and she gave the reason. Stealing. She did manage to steal his wallet which was in his bedroom when she sneaked in earlier. He only realized after she took off

He will be relieved she didn't steal anything then sees his wallet missing.

He will be determined to get it back. His mother's birthday gift gold locket was in it. Her birthday was coming soon and he purchased it on that day for her. A very special gift.

Well, don't have time to write longer

But a glimpse of what i want to see

For me the best and most iconic ITV show and love story is Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi. The only show I managed to finish from start to end. The love story and everything was beautifully portrayed and executed. Leads chemistry was 100/100. Supporting characters were well developed and so many characters and subplots contributed to the success of the show. It was not just about the leads. I am not sure any show will come close to that IMO.

Channa Mereya is an enjoyable watch and the actors are doing a good job but its far from a quality product. The dhaba and chefs angle definitely gives it a charm and helps set the show apart for now. If it wasn't for that, I am not sure if my interest would sustain. I like Karan and Niyati as an onscreen couple, the chemistry is strong. Some improvement is needed in the acting dept here and there but for the most part, the acting is fine. Some scenes were the acting was not up to par was probably due to direction.

The editing, screenplay and pacing could use some work. Some of the romance scenes are nice but seem forced. I think they can work on developing leads story and chemistry without having trip and fall scenes every episode.

I only look for acting and does the lead look good together

I watch molkki from start to finish (for Amar’s acting

I watched shows but quit because lost interest

Currently watching Banni chow home delivery, nazar (on Hulu boht pyar karte hai and CM

I like season show because they will end some time

Can watch a show if story is boring (most shows I quit was story was dragging)

Ironically most of the iconic shows for me on TV weren't popular and were shut down early.

Very few of them run successfully, sasuraal genda phool was/is a refreshment to the ITV and saas bahu dramas. You can still watch it today admiringly. I love to watch Iss pyaar ko even today, it's too much fun Madhubala, leads had fire chemistry.

I have tons of shows like Everest, POW, dehleez, bin kuch kahe, airlines, CID, aahat, left right left, reporters (many Sony shows), seven, khote sikkey, mahi way, rishtey, sanjeevni 1, shararat, hum paanch, Tarak Mehta, social awareness shows like balika vadhu, naa aana iss, maryada, so many shows could be called iconic. Iconic for me is something which wasn't shown earlier on ITV and so has a special place in the history of ITV.
