I hated this movie. Such a try hard, "you all need to feel sad for Shalu" should have been the movie's name.
You didn't like Shalu because she was tomboy?

This is such a nostalgic movie for me.No I always rooted for Shalu and Dev.They didn't felt like a misfit couple to me.They had such a cute and beautiful chemistry in the film. They had many cute scenes in the movie which makes me rooted for them.On the other hand Sameer was more like a friend to Shalu than a lover.Mahima's character was more of a filler lol she didn't make any difference to me.Her character doesn't have any depth other than just being a sister to Shalu. She also doesn't have any chemistry with both the guys. The sacrifice done by Shalu in the movie was very annoying.Yes I also felt bad for Sameer's character like everyone at the end but I always rooted for Shalu-Dev so I was happy they ended up together.đ.
No I think she meant that she found the movie annoying since it was only about Shalu i.e.that the movie was all about Shalu only. The makers did everything so that audience will feel symapathy and sad for her at the expense or ignoring other characters.I don't think she didn't like Shalu becoz she was tomboy nowhere she told she hated her for being a tomboy.

He's a guy and I was trolling him and he knows it.đ
I don't even remember Shalu's characteristics. All I remember is Rekha being annoyingly mean to her so much that seemed like deliberate attempt to make us all feel sad for Shalu. Wasn't organic IMO. On top of that I disliked the early 2000s romantic movies bar few. Most of them have a feeling of being forced, I dunno why but bar one two I generally don't like Bollywood romantic dramas, especially the early 2000s.

Rekha being rude to Shalu made sense since she was an illegitimate child of her husband. She still raised her which would never happen in real life so that part was actually unrealistic. Otherwise no woman is going to tolerate an illegitimate child of her husband.
One of my favorite movies and Preity-Arjunâs chemistry is one of the main reasons for it, so Dev-Shalu were the perfect fit in the movie for me đ
