Why should TV viewers be bothered so much about TRP numbers, when it has to be broadcasters & advertisers botheration??😛Guess you didn't read my other post within this same thread posted last week. My opinions and how BARC got faulted over the years are mentioned there and I have been consistent over last many months on various forums and SM that BARC need to right fix their processes, samples, data collection, analytics and system; and so viewers shouldn't be bothered so much just enjoy watching shows they are interested and want to watch, till they air. Its a general opinion and doesn't change for some actor or channel or show of my preference.

And I'm not into TRP prediction biz, neither is it my hobby. This was another topic on TRPs where opinions were shared, that's it.

Just want to share some thoughts. For e.g. Star Bharat head early this year said they want to invest in new content, concepts not bothered about TRPs for now. He knows their paid TV subscription base is pretty low in India, where as Star Plus from same parent group has capitalized distribution networks and developed huge subscribers in the last couple years and it also tops GRPs & TRPs in BARC lists among Hindi GECs.

Shaheer, Karan Wahi, Mika, Karan V Grover etc. kind popular faces are helping SB channel get more paid TV subscriptions right from Apr 2022 onward, so those BARC sample households don't matter much for now to them.😊They aren't making low budget TV shows nor roping low cost actors nor weak recycled concepts. If they feel business is not viable, they'll pull these shows down.

Now can we say people aren't watching new SB shows, not liking them or they are utter flops? just because SB shows don't appear in weekly TRP list?There are many Indians watching these shows too regularly. If they are interested in actors, characters, concept, leads or story twists, or like the buzz due to mouth publicity or promotions and media coverage, many may watch irrespective of channel and irrespective of what TRPs are, till the show airs.😃

Also hotstar from same group has high online outreach in India both for free and paid subscribers, so if not offline on online SB shows may attract more eyeballs, simple.

Most hindi GECs lost millions paid TV subscribers, so it seems they are more bothered in 2022 about crores of monthly revenues going down, than some BARC sample TV households who generate TRPs. 😔

If we look at recent interview of Punit, Zee network has LOST many paid subscribers in 2021 to FREE channels and their last quarter revenue was also low, and we know Zeetv is still running low budgets and not spending on high cost shows. Below is one news item.

Star Plus has better paid subscriber base, viewership, revenues and high ad-slot prices so lot of new shows and producers are in Q. Hence it mainly seems to use TRPs just as an excuse to axe some of its ongoing shows, for clearing time slots to launch new ones.

Yes SB shows have really good content

The trp system is definitely faulty 🤔

No i meant as in the prediction for the plot like will it be love triangle or just damini gaining new friend or just a short term twist of whoever’s entry it is coz I’m really curious making scenarios in my head😂

His track in show depends on TRPs. Like for example similar track happened in Kasam (colorstv) show n it was just for 1 month but the execution was so well viewers were enjoying the ML trying to stop marriage as he loved FL n the other guy intro was negative who wanted to marry the FL at any cost he even tried to kill ML to clear his way. Anyways point is that track was planned for a month only but it made show touched higher TRPs even landed up in top 5 so Ekta stretched it for 3 more months but TRPs remained very good but director Anil n ekta decided to go by story script n ended the track which m sure she must have regret later. I know colors team very well how they work they take it slow if track gets hit.

Now here I don’t know may be if Zee team and creatives saw good response n TRPs than they likely will stretch it which I think they should as long as TRPs r in favour. 🤔

Aww man thts not good news for me coz i hate love triangles bt if it’s psycho lover thn it’s fine just hoping for more radha mohan scenes whatever track it is those scenes can make it bearable for me😆

But in precap yeh good guy wala role looks too fake n too tood to be true like there’s a streak of exaggeration tht might happen n he can also b damini’s friend or helper whom she’s gonna pay money just like damru to marry radha

I wish like someone suggested that this guy turns psycho lover for Radha bcz than it will useful in future after Radha Mohan marriage creating interesting drama 😃

When a system is faulty and still under radar, feel its not really worth for regular TV viewers & fans in 2022 to get so much worked up / jump in joy / predict / blame / worry / anticipate or bother about weekly TRP numbers published by BARC and get into unwanted fan wars on;

whether a TV show rises or falls in numbers or not,

why & how much numbers can change or not,

what actors or characters are a cause of change in numbers or not a cause,

on which GEC or time slot a TV show has to air or not, etc. etc.

And anyhow most Indian TV viewers don't decide or deliberate what show they want to watch or not, based on some weekly TRP numbers published in a list.😛

Its broadcasters & advertisers that need to bother more, since they are both investors and stakeholders in BARC, not general public who are mere TV viewers. In 2015 all stakeholders collectively agreed and brought in BARC as a system to formally publish weekly data, may be who knows next year or so some other third party takes up this job to give more transparent, fool proof and authentic TRP data, if BARC doesn't come out fully clean and Govt an legal bodies object to its processes and mechanisms?
