For the family members Shakti is a dead guy so it's understandable why they don't mention him, but this Reem not knowing about Shakti and vice versa is major blunder unless they show that Reem has partial amnesia where she for got about Shakti.

I guess it's his despicable nature that made them averse to even mentioning him since from what is apparent they're actually very scared of him and see him as a devil of some sort whom they may just wanna forget.
