Oh my god our Shivi have become a legend in Somnath 🥺🥺 tbh I can imagine this happening! People give missals of their epic love story! The most stunning story love story in Somnath ❤️

“Jaise chand chahe jitna hi door kyu na ho dharti se, ghumta to wo dharti ke ird gird hi hai na, aise hi dur hokar bhi inki duniya ek dusre ke ird gird ghuma karti thi” -> I loved this analogy of Shiva and Raavi being the moon and the earth!! Shiva is the hard earth while Raavi is the luminescent moon that softens the rigid earth ❤️

This story literally had the best dialogues I’ve read for any Shivi ff!! Poetry dripping from each line *chef’s kiss*

The only part that made me a tiny bit sad was when you indicated that Shiva and Raavi are dead 🥲 My crazy heart cannot digest that there is a world where these two idiots don’t exist. For us Shivi fans these characters will live on for as long as we live ☺️ Ik thoda sa dramatic hogaya but that’s the type of impact these two have on me 😌

Beautiful work ❤️❤️

awwww I am so happy you liked it so much ❤️

i loved your interpretation of the "chand-dharti" line 😳

oh my, best dialogues in any ff is such a huge compliment, dont know if i deserve it but thank you 😳🤗

hehe its not dramatic at all cant imagine a world where ShiVi don't exist

but, although shiva raavi are no longer alive in this story, in my head they lived a loooong happy live together ❤️😳

2. Tales told by a tree (Part 1)

“The people I asked had said that it should be here, somewhere,” she muttered to herself. She kept walking in the heat, tired. She wanted to rest, but not wanting to delay any longer decided against it.

Finally as she walked ahead, a path to the forest was visible, she followed the instructions she had written down and soon enough, she found her destination.

The tree, she thought happily. It was a mango tree. In the scorching summers, the tree was covered with lush green leaves and countless number of mangoes. It was old, and age had worked its charm, it was a beautiful, magnificent tree.

She sat down under it, welcoming the cool shelter it provided. She looked upwards, and could see all the leaves rustling with the wind. “This is it, this is the tree, Shiva’s tree”. At least that's what all of the town called it. After her encounter with the old man who introduced her to the ‘Asmaani Jodi’, she couldn't get them out of her mind.

Wanderer at heart, with no specific destination, she decided to stay in Somnath a bit longer. Curiosity got the best of her, she couldn't find the old man again unfortunately, not having asked his name. But when she asked around about Shiva-Raavi, it seemed like the entire town suddenly had so much to say, remembering the old man’s words, she smiled “Shiva-Raavi ko yaha kaun nahi jaanta, arey log to kya, dyaan se sunoge to somnath ki har gaali tumhe unka koi ek qissa suna jaayega”, he was right, every person she talked to, every place she went, had a story to tell.

A family she met told her about this place but strangely when she asked why is this place special or why did they call this particular tree, Shiva’s tree, the family just smiled. One of them had called her closer as if sharing a very precious secret whispered, “ Agar Shiva ke ped ki kahaani jaani hai, to uske paas jaao jisne iss kahaani ko bunte hua dekha ho, usse jiya ho.” and then proceeded to give her a set of directions, that had led her to this place.

Now that she was here, there was no one to be seen, maybe the person played a prank on her she thought, frustrated. But she was here, and was tired. The cool breeze and the shade of the tree made her want to stay. Tired, her eyes started closing, just as she was about to fall into a deep slumber, a voice woke her up. She looked for the voice but not a soul was around, the voice spoke again. this time she could understand what it was saying, it was a deep voice, calming, strangely reminding her not of a person but of the calm rustling of the trees.

“Shiva-Raavi ki kaahani sunne aayi ho?” it said.

The tourist somehow couldn't find her voice, instead just nodded as if in a trance.

“Then here it is,” it began, “ Once, there was a little boy, Shiva who would often visit me, like you visit your friends, but he’d always come here when he was angry, sad or agitated. It was as if I was the one who’d share all his sorrows, his humdard. Sometimes he’d talk, sometimes just sit here, seeking a silent companion. He was a loner I could tell.”

“But one day to my suprise, he came here with someone, a little girl, it looked like they were friends. He had been 10 years of age and she, I think was 8. Shiva was holding her hand and leading her towards me, as soon as they arrived, Shiva said, with pride dripping off of his words, “Dekha gadhedi, bola tha na free ke aam dhund ke dunga, yeh dekh yeh pedh par kitne saare aam latke hai”. Arms folded across haughtily, expecting the little girl to be impressed. Instead to Shiva’s dismay she said “Ha to, dhundne main kaun si badi baat hai, wo to koi bhi karle, itna bada ped hai, aur saare aam dekho kitna upar hai” raising her hands over her head for dramatic effect “Aam tod ke laayega to main maanu”

Shiva, the boy I had come to know, would take up this challenge in a jiffy; he, so used to climbing around trees, reached the mangoes in no time. The girl cheered for him heartily and said “ Arey waah Shiva tu to ekdum bandar nikla, ab jaldi aa na niche mujhe aam khaana hai”

But he had different plans, smirking slightly he said, “Main kyu aaun niche? Bandar to pedh pe hi rehte hai aur wahi baith kar khaate hai, tu apna dekh le main to yeh baithkar khaaunga.”

The girl was angry, pouting she whined, “ Shivaaaaa, aise mat kar na main teri tarah koi bandariya thode na hoon main kaise pohochungi udhar, Please na shiva, dekh maasi jab teri favourite mithai banayegi, main tere liye leke aungi, pakka wala promise”. Innocently looking up at him with the best puppy eyes she could make.

Shiva on the other hand made a dramatic gesture of thinking deeply and said “Chal theek hai, par ek shart par, tu agar iss pedh ki sabse nichli daali tak chadh paayi to main waha tak aakar tujhe tera aam de dunga.”

To this the girl’s eyes widened, “Main.. main kaise, main nahi aaungi”

“Dar gayi na, mujhe pata tha tujh jaisi darpok ke bas ki baat nahi hai yeh”, Shiva snickered

To which the girl stood up straight and said with as so much confidence, that I almost believed her “Main kisi se nahi darti, abhi chadhke dikhati hoon tujhe”

Saying that she took hold of the branch, it came up to her shoulder. She tried too many times, in various ways but failed. Shiva having had his share of fun said, “Bas bas itna uchal mat sach main bandariya ban gayi to teri maasi tujhe ghar wapas aane nahi degi, main madat kar deta hoon”

Saying this he plucked two fresh mangoes from the branch that was next to him and climbed down.

Keeping the mangoes on the ground, he sat on his hands and knees, such that the girl could step on his back and climb on to the branch easily. Once the girl reached the branch he handed her the mangoes and climbed up to sit next to her. He had a pocket knife with him that he used to cut up the mangoes. The girl took one of the cut up mangoes, happily swinging her legs, and was about to take a bite. She suddenly exclaimed aloud.

“Ae dobi, itni zor se kyu chilla rahi hai mere kaano ke parde puncture karne ka irada hai kya?” said Shiva, extremely annoyed.

“Shivaaa, dekh naa, main to mirchi laana bhool gayi, mujhe mirchi ke saath yeh aam khaane the, ab to wapas jaakar laane main kitna time lag jaayega, ab yeh phenke se aam hi khaane honge mujhe”, the girl said, adorning a sad face.

“Chal chal ab itni bhi nautanki mat kar” said little Shiva, his hand rummaging through one on his pockets, getting a small packet filled with red chilli powder out, “Jaanta tha mirchi aam khaane ke lalach mein yaha aayi, lekin tu to thehri dobi, mirch laana hi bhool jaayegi, isliye main hi leke aa gaya, warna saara raasta aise kaddu si shakal bana ke mujhe pareshan karti”

To which the girl pouted, “Main dobi nahi hoon” but took the packet anyway, and sprinkled its contents onto her mango.

And so it went on, both the little ones sitting on the tree, eating their mangoes happily, occasionally the girl would try to feed the boy her chilli sprinkled mangoes and the boy would just tease her about her weird tastes. Bickering and laughing, they finished up their mangoes, and went on their merry way.”

"The girl I later found out was Raavi, That was the only time he’d brought someone here willingly. She did not come back with him, but I heard whispers rustling through the wind, whispers amongst my kind, that the entire summer and the next, as soon as the mangoes would arrive, Shiva would start carrying a small packet of red chillies in his pocket.

The third year though something happened, I saw him coming to me, crying and in rage. I then saw a heartbreaking sight I would never forget, Shiva holding the packet of red chilli angrily emptying it on the ground. The day was windy, and the spice flew everywhere, including in his direction, but that did not stop him. Tears streaming down his face, eyes bloodshot, anyone who saw the scene would think the chilli made his eyes water, but only I, his humdard, knew, it was grief, of losing a parent, grief of losing her. The flowing tears took away with them the memories of a sunny afternoon, where a girl and a boy shared mangoes, memories and laughter.”

The tourist still couldn’t speak but had so many questions to ask. As if reading her mind the voice spoke up again, “ Yes, he came back here from time to time, seemingly free of the memories of her. A long time went by, Shiva grew up to be a rough rowdy man, but when he came to me he shed away that exterior and greeted me as I knew him first, a vulnerable heartbroken little boy.

I heard stories of what happened, you know, his marriage and eventual divorce. I saw him through those times too. That was the first time in so many years that I saw him remember her, the girl he once knew.

“Hum haveli gaye the'' he whispered, a hand on the trunk of the tree forehead pressed against it, eyes closed “tab maine maami ki behan ki beti ko dekha tha, mirchi aam khaate hue, aise laga waqt ulti raah daudne laga ho, aur aakar yaha ruk gaya ho, kaayi saal pehle issi ped ke niche, jaha main aur wo…” he couldn't complete the thought. I saw him walk away, shoulders slumped in defeat, this was the second time the same grief had greeted him, in this very place, the grief of losing her."

“But I’ll tell you a secret, a one that no one knows about, maybe not even Shiva. It's a secret I kept too long, a secret between me and her, Raavi. Her childhood wasn't the only time she visited me, I met her three more times''

End of Part 1
