@ bold do you by any chance believe all South Indians are dark skinned? If you do then you are mistaken like any other part of the world even South India has mix of people of all colours so it's not shocking to find fair skinned South Indian.

The main reason for Telugu industry to not have natives in female lead is coz it is still looked down upon to be a female actor in the Telugu states. And the ones willing to enter are very few in numbers and they cannot do all the movies, hence the industry looks elsewhere. Few years ago it was mostly models from Mumbai who were hired but now its mostly the women from other south states that are picked.

True..this is a misconception that needs to be cleared..u will see as many shades of brown in southern part of India as in any other part of the country. And have seen the prettiest girls here irrespective of the skin color

Did same happened for Radhe Shyam because it is produced by UV productions and is Prabhas's maiden productions

Radhe shyam is genuine flop nothing like planned flop 😆

You will clearly understand if a movie is made to make it flop,

One point i can tell, they take a struggling heroine in the name of giving her break but all know the movie going to be a flop

Edit: i can give example from old times, remember movie Kedi - Nagarjuna movie. My friend told me that this movie was made to flop so that Nagarjuna can escape income tax. That year i came to know about this scam in industry. That movie was such a faltu movie.

In that case I have new found respect for the audience there.

No pushpa did well in Telangana and super hit here.

The differences between AP CM and cine field effected pushpa earning, making it a flop to average in AP.

no i dont believe that. Just that there's disproportionate number of light-skinned actresses they depict, whether shipped from the north or otherwise.

Isn't that the norm with Bollywood too? Why single out just southern industries? How many dusky heroines do bolly have?

That said Indians are one of the most colourist country on the planet, though we are also the ones who cry the most about discrimination. The colonial rule of two centuries have messed up the Indian psyche beyond repair and the inferiority complex regarding colour of the skin, hair and eyes have seeped into our DNA.

I have faced this all my life. To-date I get told that they cannot believe I am a South Indian coz I am too fair skinned to be one and that I speak fluent Hindi 🙄 so many think I am pranking them by saying I am a South Indian when am not.

Won't entirely blame it on Indian audience..this same audience has given love to actors of all shapes n sizes over the years.

70s 80s BW heroines weren't exactly size zeros. We had girl next door actresses like Moushami Chatterjee, Vidya Sinha, Ranjita, Jaya Bhaduri..even Rekha.

And this same audience has given immense love to the likes of Deepika, Priyanka, Shilpa Shetty,Bipasha n all

I thought uska productions hai isliye shayad kiya ho but seriously the gigantic budget man for such mediocre film what they were thinking before putting money😆

Okayy this I understand now have seen similar pattern for pk movies also

Kedi movie I heard but never saw never appealed me 😆

But if such tax scam is out in public then why does not tax departments get hold of this ?
