Are you interested to watch War 2 in cinemas?10 days to go!
This article is full of stupidity.
Only Acharya and Radhe Shyam are flops even after making 100 cr because of its huge budget.
This is common with Chiranjeevi, from his youth days if he makes one huge success, the next is a flop and there was also talk that he did that for tax reasons.
In that sense keeping budget and returns even Gangubai should be a flop
In fact Pushpa has not done well in both Telangana and AP, it is a success because of its huge business in north
Bheemla Nayak and Bangaraju have broken even and no loss for distributors just that they expected these movies to do a lot more.
Only Radheyshyam and Acharya were flops.
Rest of them made fair amount of money and had decent run at the box office.

on a risk-adjusted basis, making small moolah is not worth it, given that the money is tied up for a long time. So for all practical purpose, they were duds. Face it. 😉
by the way, why do so many south movies have models from north and light-skinned punjabi actresses? Don't we find dusky very appealing? Indigenous local stuff doesn't work? Anyway, I suppose there's only so much of that corny heavy melodramatic stuff that can sell in any year, so the flops.😆

Sridevi and Jayaprada who were Telugus went onto become hugely successful in Hindi.
Light skinned models are taken only when the role doesn't require much histrionics. When the role is important and requires a lot of emoting in front of the camera it is always the south Indian actresses.
BTW the most sought after actresses in the South now are Sai Pallavi and Rashmika Mandana who are south Indians.
Telugu girls are not interested in getting into movies nowadays so they are forced to import actresses from other states. There was a time Telugu actresses ruled South Indian films.
Light skin fixation is a misconception. If Telugus were fixated on light skinned actresses people like Radhika Suhasini would not have become top heroines of their time.

I agree that talent has very little correlation with looks/ light-skin and i can surmise there are many great actresses from the south. Still, there does seem to be a lot of tamanna bhatias and other light-skinned actresses from the north over the years.... and that too in big-budget movies. They are clearly there because that's who the audience seems to prefer for those movies.
as for jayaprada and sridevi, werent they lighter skinned too? Sarika (who was married to kamal hasan), asin.... they are probably all a bit on the lighter side too.
The point was never that Telugu industry didn’t have flops…all industries do
The point of throwing light on the south blockbusters (kgf, rrr) is that content that was made with regional sensibilities is speaking to a pan India audience to the level that they aren’t just mere hits …they are the biggest hits in the country that year/ of all time ..
They show footfalls and numbers that haven’t been seen for most big Hindi films …that’s a point to discuss given Hindi more largely spoken across the country and akshay , salman etc are more well known stars compared to yash, ram charan
Tamanna Bhatia after her failed debut in Hindi entered south India. Though she was famous for her light complexion it was her performance in critically acclaimed films like Happy days that brought her success. No she was not taken in the film because of her light skin but the director felt she looked right to play a college student. The director who gave her brake through film in Telugu is known to go for the girl next door looks. Tamanna looked very much like a girl next door Telugu girl in that film.
For every Tamanna Bhatia there are scores of light skin actresses who didn't make it.
Sridevi Jayaprada didn't make it big just because of their light skin. Before them the numero Uno of Telugu films was a very dark complexioned heroine called Vanisri.
Telugu people's obsession with light skinned actresses is exaggerated. It's more to do with the willingness of the models to wear revealing outfits than just the light skin. If one roams around the streets in Telugu alnd they can find fair number of light skinned Telugu men women boys and girls😉
