Correct but when u compare the ML & FL for a particular successful show, both may contribute equally but both may not win awards.
And of course, when it comes to popular awards the role also influences votes. Some roles are naturally more attractive & entertaining for the audience - Ramâs role is one such, some roles are meaningful & layered but not as entertaining for the lay audiences - Priyaâs is one such.
In the Indian classical arts there is a term âjanaranjakâ which means appealing to the mass audience. Ramâs is a janaranjak role, Priyaâs is not. I like to think of us as more thinking women, who like & enjoy Priyaâs role.
I got what you are saying, but we also donât know what kind of actors/characters they are competing against, we, as fans of one show are always biased towards the actors from that show.
Donât quote me on this, I think in S1 time Sakshi got more awards than Ram, not because she was a better actor, but because she had/has loyal fan base due to her typical Mahaan role from her previous show.
I agree with Ritu when she said it is not just about the current role and performance, it is about the fan base thatâs formed over a period of time,
