I haven't really followed her shows but i have seen her here and there and not found anything profound in her acting, characters or shows until bade.

That's why when the news broke that disha has been signed for bade opposite nakuul i was not happy!

I was like " ohh...noo!🤦"

It took me some time to accept disha but she rocked priya. I think priya the first prominent role portrayed by disha and now her fanbase will start to build more. And she is very young too to have a better judgement for her roles but she is learning. She started her career when she was 17🤷

And now she is in her late 20s. She is finally going for stereotypes breaking role which will set benchmark in ITV and her career.

But nakuul has been very specific about his roles and never did any average role after adi.

His career graph is more impressive as compared to disha, that's why he is more popular but i think if it had been surbhi instead of disha who had played priya it would have been surbhi who must have gotten an award bcz she is even more popular than nakuul.

But disha as Priya is something to watch every night

That's not true ..

DP played Pankhuri and Ayesha , both breath of fresh air , very different from each other..

DP took a risk by playing Jhanvi on her second show, coz that was kind of the first show were the FL falls in love with a married man with kids, is literally the second woman, then she played Jiya were she smoked cigarettes' didn't much believe in god, complete contrast of Jhanvi..

But the overall story line went downhill within few episodes , and the show didn't receive much popularity in spite of running for one and a half years..

Priya is ofcourse very unique..

As far DP not winning awards is concerned , it has got nothing to do with her choices ( There are lot of FL winning awards for the same saas bahu crap) , not everyone gets to play Maya like Jenny .

She has made the best choices in my opinion . She does not have a dedicated fandom or hard core fans who would vote for her that's all.

Her competition in best ITV actress is with people like Anupama, Ashi Singh etc etc who are so much more popular than Disha the actor and Priya the character.

Haven't watched IB , but as per my knowledge alpha male and bad boli FL is a well tested formula for Gul Khan. She does the same thing in every show.. All her shows from outside look the same to me but such shows undoubtedly bring immense popularity for actors and the show itself garners lot of eye balls and creates buzz in SM..

Can’t comment on this as I never even heard of them before I started watching balh2, same as when I watched S1 (and reporters). I don’t normally go back and watch the actors’ previous shows, because I see (and like) them only as the characters they play in the current show I watch.

The only exception being LRL because it came with high recommendation, but even there I didn’t watch all the episodes,

This is what I remember too. No offence to Sakshi fans, but when I go back and watch some S1 scenes (because of some discussion we have here), I find her OTT in some of them (I watched S1 jealousy episode before confession the other day, her flirting was OTT for me). I like Disha’s subtlety better.

That makes me remember, in the confession episode (and the jealousy episode) Priya wore a black saree. Does S2 Priya’s black outfit has any similar significance?

That's the thing! That disha's characters and shows never got that kind of popularity and fans like other FLs.

And honestly i don't even know why awards matter so much?!! If an actor is happy with what they are doing and not regreting their career choice after working a 14-15 hr shift 5-6 days a week, then who the hell are we to tell them to do this or that.

They love doing this so they are doing this, they are not forced into this career. And fame, recognition and popularity is circumstantial in my opinion. Not every actor retires as the best popular celebrity.🤷

And jaha tak bat hai Gul ki yes, that us her trade mark. But what made SSO an breakthrough role was his straightforwardness for being a grey character openly. He never hid behinde fake good gesture and tried to justified his actions. He was very clear from the beginning that he can go to any lengths with anyone whether good or ugly if it will keep his family healthy, wealthy and happy. He was not an adarsh ML, the perfect good man like other shows. He was grey and he was ok being the bad guy. That made him different.
