I feel Aru is not a natural for such stage performances - even Shreya was shy and lost for words when I first saw her on stage. She mostly sang her hits, not getting into any stage connect. She would have been Aru's age, but had already established herself. Maybe 20, not more than that.
So, Arunita will improve on the stage with experience and exposure. But not being a chirpy personality (Shreya is) she will always be better off in the serious kind of musical solo nights. Something like a Lata Tribute night. Me 2 cents!

On a side note, was there a "meet and greet"? (You realize that this has to do with your last para 🤣)

I feel awkwardness may have a lot to do with her not being comfortable/fluent with spoken Hindi. She is fluent in Bengali and finds it easier to translate her thoughts into words. You can see that also in the various interviews she has given - her Bengali interviews are smooth and expressive, her Hindi interviews always felt she should do better. We saw that in Ghatal as well when talking in Bengali - the air of confidence.

Since she is in Mumbai, I hope she doesn't learn spoken Hindi, Mumbaiya style (i am from there originally and know how we murder spoken Hindi) . It would help if she were to learn Urdu and find some Delhite friends to interact with!

About suitability for such stage performances, Aru has a very charming persona, she is amazingly graceful and expressive in whatever she enacts while performing, she has the most melodious voice and can sing any genre with aplomb, she is also great at learning and delivering new songs quickly (this was highlighted by Choklate Pi on how he was astounded during the Vancouver and Israel perf. where he gave them 2 hours before show start to sing different songs once he knew what the audience make up would be and A & P delivered) - key ingredients to be great at stage performances! Crowd engagement in Hindi needs to be a focused work in progress for her. I have high hopes given what we saw during Ghatal. Fingers crossed! She also needs to realize that she shouldn't try to mimic what her colleagues may be doing - she is different and should own her individuality!

@Bold 2 - Either you sing just tuneful enough- with loud musical instruments to support you - then you can be free and dance around. Or you sing well but without intricacies or nuances - but, when a singer bring these intricacies and nuances in their singing - then they can't afford to be too active on stage. That is why classical and semi classical singers always just sit and perform. Lata always use to just stand and sing on the stage. So it's difficult here for Aru, she just needs different type of setting. That's why Ghatal was the best - she had no pressure, as to what to sing and how to sing.

Bold: It's very interesting you say this as I can attest to what you describe when I watched the concert live with some of the other performers. Also If you sing very popular numbers, you have to be just good enough for people to enjoy the performance as most likely they are singing along and not really listening.

When Aru sings, you listen, you absorb, you transcend!

Yes, it was magical. For a non-Bengali like me, never heard Chere Dile Sonar Go - it is now one of my favorites and have played it ad nauseam, likewise for the Kichu Kichu Kotha rendition.

Another reason is that audio/video was professionally recorded unlike the overseas performance which are recorded on someone's smart phone. Ghatal got one closer to the live seating in the front rows experience

I will agree with Ghatal being one of the best stage performance of Arudeep. I guess the main reason being both had the liberty to pick the songs for solo and duet. Second reason there was less distractions. Only two main performers. Same goes for Israel concert.

I hope upcoming Indore concert to be as successful. 👍🏼

I could not agree more. I have always felt that her unfamiliarity with Hindi as a spoken language hinders her interactions. And Danish can be the right person to influence her Hindi. I remember reading Lata Mangeshkar hired someone to learn Urdu. Danish is available for free - or at most for the cost of a Vlog! 🤣
