Episode 5 of Alif is so sad Jhoomar is a hijra right? When she hands her little bit of money over to Momina's father and promises she will bring more at the end of the night so they can get Jahangir's body back... lump in the throat moment right there. The actress who plays Momina - her grief is so natural. No over-the-top rona dhona or scenery-chewing histrionics, just restrained emoting

Sajal Aly.. Momina..is brilliant in angst scenes. Waise bhi she's an amazing actress but in every sad scene she is beautiful..just the right level of pain she emotes, never a bit more than needed, never less. Somebody we know who is oh! so celebrated for his crying scenes should learn from this girl.

She's been in the industry as a child artist too I think. So there's a movie, Behadd, where she is a teen with a single mom.. That s a good one too if you want to watch Pretty. And another wonderful performance is in this drama called Yakeen ka Safar.. A bit dark but a fantastic show that.. I like it almost as much as Alif.

was it Naira's Nani who tried to talk them out of their first divorce? I liked that lady.

Satya vachan! Beautifully calibrated. And likewise Momin - his outbursts and angry scenes are also so well done. When he seethes, he doesn't do that awful physical shaking like he's trapped inside a conveyor belt 🤢. The subtlety is what makes their scenes poignant.

Yeah she was good too, but when she was younger as Akshara's mom worrying over her jawan beti she wasn't that sensible.. But I guess that's how it goes.. Then she was more of a husband worshipping kind of woman.. Wisdom came with age.

True. Momin's arrogance is also more bearable and believable and not of the irritating kind..and aage jake it's such a beautiful story.
