Akshara's dadi was one of the nicest characters ever on this show... I really admire that lady..such a sweet, wise and progressive woman she was

Episode 5 of Alif is so sad Jhoomar is a hijra right? When she hands her little bit of money over to Momina's father and promises she will bring more at the end of the night so they can get Jahangir's body back... lump in the throat moment right there. The actress who plays Momina - her grief is so natural. No over-the-top rona dhona or scenery-chewing histrionics, just restrained emoting
