Any film that breaks records in trending gets compared to Gadar. It is the ultimate benchmark in Bollywood for movie trending at box office.

BOI just declared TKF an ATBB. 😲

Gadar? Naah....Gadar had a blockbuster opening too so it automatically trended at much higher levels with 5 cr footfalls. TKF will be lucky to get to 1.5 Cr.

More like Jai Santoshi Maa or Aashiqui(the 1990 one).

But an awesome feat regardless.

If he does his research and asks all these questions about protests and political stances, then it won’t be the kapil sharma show or a comedy show …it becomes a serious interview…

Which is why I said it does not fit the theme of the show for it to be promoted there …

A more suitable means of promotion would be a well researched interview with one of the news channels …or a digital interview …to raise concerns on the above matters….not a comedy show that thrives on cracking jokes …his show is not an appropriate platform to promote the film

Are you claiming that he does not invite artists from serious movies? 🤔 Have you ever watched late night shows in the US? There are ways of presenting serious discussions in the middle of silly comedy shows too! You just need to be bright or willing to do so. In this case he was probably trying to ensure he didn't run afoul of the appeasement crowd that dominates bollywood. That and him being a total jackass are the likely reasons.

It’s being discussed in the Parliamentary sessions run with the hard earned money of the Tax payer’s money and being promoted by the PM himself. What least promotion? It’s another thing to come up with excuses and spreading misinformation if the movie isn’t doing well.

But BOI doesn't support or extensively praise this type of realistic movies even if they break records or do extremely well at the box office. They always downplay such movies success.

They have a bias towards massy/masala films and put down anything associated with realism calling it European or DCH syndrome movies.

It's possible that after so long such numbers are freaking them out, but they were excited about this film even before it released in theaters.

Given the “calm and composed” reaction he got for refraining , I can only imagine what nonsense he would have faced had he tried to fit the film and its content into his comedy show … His decision was apt and made in his best interests ….
