When will we see a woman being threatened openly by her husband of getting thrown out of the house if his sister isn’t happy just leave him or give it to him on his face.

It all makes it look like the bahu doesn’t have any ownership of the house, family and even her husband of her own. Why should anyone even have the right to threaten? Should she not ask him to leave instead if he has an issue. Legally it’s her home too. Or if she doesn’t want to do it, why does she forgive her husband easily as if nothing has happened ? Why? Is marriage just a trade for him? Is she a guarantee card only?

Seriously it sends such a wrong message to everyone. It annoys me so much as well.

I agree. I hate it when the husband or in laws threaten to kick the bahu out of the house. I’d tell them to kiss my Kim Kardashian ass on their way out, coz I ain’t leaving. This is exactly the reason why TV serials need to stop showing the joint family crap. Let the daughter in law have her own home and her own space. Half the problems would lessen if married couples had their own privacy.

I think what first needs to change in our society is ladki paraya dhan hai. Once this happens women will have more strength to pick herself from a bad or abusive marriage and move out. Usually a girl/women stays in an abusive marriage when she feels that she has no other support and now her husband’s house is her only place.

For all the parents out there, make your girl independent and assure her that even after marriage this will be her home and she’s welcomed back if anything goes wrong instead of telling her to endure all the wrongs because abb yeh tumhara ghar nahi hai.

And for the sorry excuse of a husband please do not ruin someones life if your mother and sister are more valued than your wife.


What needs to also change is “bahu” is meant to look after the entire family but have no say in the family. Kaamwali chahiye without a salary. But khud ki beti ke upar kuch aa bane toh haye tauba machayege the same people.

If anyone is in a situation where you are threatened to be kicked out, you know what just save them the trouble of kicking you out. Leave and do not turn back, leave with your dignity and self respect. Aise logo ko 2nd chance nahi dena chahiye.
