Yaar why do you hate Sirat so much? Is it bcz she's not Naira? Bechari Sirat was a poor, unfortunate soul, kismet ki maari thi bechari. You know Ranveer was a nice guy but he put a lot of subtle emotional pressure on her and pushed her into marrying him. It was not intentional, but had unwanted effects. See, he was her only friend, in fact the only decent human being she was in contact with apart from her Maudi, since childhood.. He helped her and supported her but it wasn't right of him to put the burden of his romantic feelings on her before she could had the opportunity of living her life and meeting other people. Especially also since he knew in what a difficult position his family would put her in. That's why Maudi was not ok with the her marrying Ranveer. She went along at first but after the shooting incident she did right in telling Ranveer to stay away from her. Even when he came back when she was engaged to Kartik, he didn't give a second thought to what Sirat wanted, how she felt, but just started putting pressure on her and immediately asked her to marry him after disclosing how he had taken a bullet for her. Bechari ehsaan ke bojh se razi ho gayi..she didn't have the space or experience to really know her own feelings. Then after that accident he again pushed her to marry him the very next day by saying I have escaped death twice, if I could marry you I'd die happily. That was very fine, very effective emotional blackmail on a vulnerable young person like Sirat.
I didn't like this aspect of Ranveer, he was better after marriage but before he looked like a psycho lover to me. It was creepy the way he went around with the bullet lodged in his chest.
And she didn't ruin his life, she did her best to make the marriage work, she was always completely honest with him and put aside her own feelings after she realized them in order to keep him happy. I don't see what more she could have done.
