AnuGun Drabble- Friends
“Mai na thak gai hoon tumse ladte ladte.” Gungun broke the silence
“Ye kehne ke liye tumne muje cafe bulaya hai?” Anubhav looked visibly irritated
“Tum phir gussa ho rahe ho. See muje na tumhari tarah lambi lambi baatein karna nai aata. Muje tumhari family bahut pasand hai aur hum ek saal saath rehne wale hai. Ye decision se hamare aalawa sab khush hai. I think….. humein bhi khush hone ka haq hai.” Gungun got up determined and extended her hand to him
She shut her eyes tight awaiting a long lecture on random sanskaars. However, nothing came her way. She felt his hand in hers. She opened her eyes and found him smiling at her.
“Flirt kar rai ho kya?”
“Of course not. Maine toh sirf friendship ka haath badhaya hai so hum calmly ek room share kar sake.”
“Acha” he looked down at his coffee smiling
There was silence which made the chatty Gungun uncomfortable. Never were they ever uncomfortable around each other. She could see the chant chashmish smiling and sipping his coffee which irritated her to no end.
“This guy has no communication skills” she muttered under her breath
“Ek aur ladai ka bahana mat nikalo”
“Haa toh tum aise chup chap kyu baithe ho?”
“Thoda shocked hoon. Tumse samajdaari ki umeed nai thi”
Gungun had enough. She had decided to not fight him but the man got on her nerves.
“Fine. Enjoy your coffee.”
Anubhav caught her hand as she started moving away.
“Padhai kaisi chal rai hai tumhari.”
“Shadi ke preparations mein busy hoon. Shadi ke baad hi padhna padega lag rha hai.” She spoke up concerned
“Ek kaam karo. Chod do BA”
“KYA?”
“Chilla kyu rai ho? Dost ke naate keh raha hoon. Kuch aisa karo jismein tumhe khushi mile.”
“Pata nai aisa kya hai?”
“Event management. Party karne ke paise milenge.”
She looked at him as she had seen a ghost was he actually thinking well about her?
“Vo shart?”
“I think tumhare papa ki shart ye nai hai ki tum BA pass ho jao balki ye hai ki tum kuch concrete karo life mein. Late ho rha hai drop kar deta hoon.”
Gungun looked at him surprised. He had never offered to drop her even if they had met late.
They had a silent bike ride till Gungun’s house but this time the silence was comfortable.
Gungun turned back and waved at him. He smiled back.
“Khayal rakhna”
“Tum bhi” she smiled back genuinely
On the way back Anubhav couldn’t stop smiling. He felt somewhere his family is correct she is more than what she looks.
Gungun called her driver and informed she was home already. Being friends with Anubhav wasn’t a bad idea she smiled to herself.
