I always give credit to the original writer Leenaji. This serial is harsh but it shows up the double standards of society. It makes you squirm because somewhere you have heard of someone who went through hoops to study after an early marriage, son of the house who is greatly influenced either by his mother or sister or bhabhi especially in a joint family situation. It is an exaggerated version without any feel good factors. There must be a reason why the TRP audience relate to it so much.

Vankar actually had a great product in his hands. They are majorly messing up by not exploring the depth of any scenario or any character. If he did his HW, & wrote stronger scenes & hard hitting dialogues, Ghum would've been number 1.

Even this track has potential. To show up the hypocrisy of the DIL being considered the daughter. But there has to be one character like a conscience keeper who never wavers & shows people the mirror. If they want to save Virat from total disaster, he can do it. But i seriously doubt they take their work so seriously.

The difference between a female story teller (Leena ji) and a male story teller (Vanku)...the abuse being manifold in this one.

The Taunting of In-Laws, Husbands getting un-faithful is also seen in a very light way and if the Wife gets agitated or fights for it, she is taken as a Negative person or a person who needs to Let go.

I have personally experienced A Girl catching her own sister with her husband and when she started to Fight and let others know to help her out, she was sidelined by her own family accusing her to just drag the issue and not letting go as it was just a 'mistake' and her drama might break her sister's marriage too (she was strictly ordered by her other sister and Maa Maasis to not tell this to her sister's husband and Forgive them. She was insulted as if its her fault to make an issue of just a cheating.

I have known some like this...if the wife reacts, it's only over exaggeration on her part.

Ladies like Sai who are broad minded, yet possessive are the easy target while those like Patralekha, who are narrow minded, get away with everything...

I have known a couple in their old age now, retired from the job, the man of the house was known to have bad character wrt to other ladies and the woman was often seen to have accepted it, saying where will he go, after a long day he is bound to come back to me, here in our house...she herself had a good bank job, still accepted the verbal abuses from her husband, was even not given the money she earned, her husband took that too abd gave her a meagre pocket money but for the society, they are the ideal couple.

I keep saying, Ghum had the potential to be No.1 if they showed ambition or atleast took their writing seriously. This story has so many depths and layers.

For them, it's timepass...they have a story, a base, still cannot build on it.

They could have made this show more enjoyable if they had shown how the leads handle all these regressive societal issues, both as individuals and as a couple. It would have made us relate to them so much, on a personal level.

All of us, at some point, face hurdles placed by this society, but we face it. It would've been nice if the leads were also shown dealing with the problems more realistically alongside working on their flaws and shortcomings, rather than getting involved in the usual howling and screaming.

Ykw, these problems can't be dealt with realistically, atleast not by single or a bunch of people, to say the least.

I had a chat with one gentleman, few days back and he said, we took one generation to get our women empowered, we need another generation to get our boys accept those empowered women and that's a fact.

Everyone cannot have an Anuj waiting for his Anupama for 26 years, there are some like Sai waiting to be accepted by her Virat sir whole heartedly, in the hopes that she will be their no. 1 someday but that day never comes and that compromise/ adjustment becomes a way of life for many.

The only part I find OTT is the multiple times both have landed in hospital.. and every time the family does not allow the spouse to see the other .

Also can people be so stupid.. there was no reason for Rono to not reveal who was shruti .. he could have trusted his spouse of 5 years .. this was not some nuclear secret . The way he ruined his marriage in both shruti part was not handled properly..

In real life mostly there is some more attachment. Physical/ emotional for the husband to betray like this . I wish they had the guts to show it ..

She did it in Anupama ( sreemoyee) which was a story written later .. where the man did stray ..

The in laws being mean is unfortunately very real .. but that they have failed is failing to show any Inter personal relationships between any of the family members .. the family can only gang up to bully ..

True, for coming together after every abuse cycle, one of them have to land up in hospital and that's too much.

Idk, that Rono shruti angle seems like Rono knowing that he is wrong, still wanting to maintain that mahaan image in front of Emon and others (pardon me, i haven't watched KD, i am saying based on Ghum). Here i got the vibes of Virat actually wanting to be with Shruti and not because of majboori.. people do have some f**ed up logics to prove themselves right and many do have double life, a separate family, whose existence is not known by anybody else... when or if ever it comes out in open, their primary family either leaves or adjust with the other, the arrangement made to suit everyone.

Family does gang up to bully, they have failed to bring in light moments but the fact that Sai is an orphan, easier to be bullied is explored better by showing some instances where Pulkit stands for her...that is actually not appreciated by Virat and family.

I have seen EMA from so close that's why I hate story's like this because it hurts a lot I have seen my friend and was her support system for a while but after this she became so strong, everyone who knows her says you are looking good and you are so strong..things that she couldn't do it she is doing on her self..

A women can change after divorce and can be strong she don't need a men in her life, I have seen this with my friend..she just need good friends, just for support..

I hate EMA, the fact that you don't want to be in a relationship, don't be but don't cheat...just go out of the present one and then pursue someone else you find compatible, don't make it tough for your spouse.

Her husband should not, especially not to be with his wife and leave his parents, then she is homebreaker...and living with his wife in her maternal home, with his in-laws, is a big no no, a taboo of being a 'Ghar jamai'.

Young people should only take these shows as fictional pieces and never ever think of them as a real experiences.

Warna ladkiya Apne anuj ka wait karte rahegi, ya Sai ki tarah apne Virat Sir ke acceptance ka intezaar karegi, and ladke Sitara ke 'V' characters se inspire hote rahenge.🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

From Reuniting Devi & Pulkit at the cost of her relationship,Bringing Sammy back home,Reuniting Virat's parents but he couldn't even respect Usha Maushi .

Her dad gave up his life for him while his family treats her like shit !!
