What about Gangubai. Budget is low..can afford to go OTT

Don’t think YRF would put one of their big budget ones on OTT .

Surprising if it happened. It would be the first YRF film to go directly OTT. They didn't do it with far smaller budgeted films.

RK hasn't released a film in almost 4 years so it's not like with Akki who has half a dozen films awaiting release.

YRF does not do ott film releases.

No fan of Akshay but his approach has turned out to be the smartest. He has even delivered hits during the pandemic and remains relevant while others haven't done a movie in years (like SRK, Ranbir, Aamir)

Samose can make an OTT movie a hit, but for theater releases you need footfalls. Looks like all the industry kids are gonna opt for OTT release to show their fake demand.

My point was that the studio doesn't have to worry about Ranbir's films possibly cannibalizing each other or getting lost in the shuffle of his other releases.. It's been almost 4 years since Sanju so there should be some built up demand.

As for Akki doing it the right way - he's delivered one hit - that would probably have done much better pre and post pandemic. The other theatrical release was declared a disaster and his two releases to OTT have been meh. He and his studios have little choice to release all these films in theaters and OTT in this environment because he's made so many and there's a backlog because he's signed up to make another 6 this year.

YRF delayed Prithviraj but he has another lined up for the March 18th date Shamshera had which makes me believe Shamshera has lost that release date.

Probably but I think Rohit Shetty and Akshay are satisfied with a clean hit considering the pandemic. Look at what happened with 83.

Likely true, Akshay is more popular than Ranbir (sadly) so they don't want a clash.
