1 am at a lonely road, Moga

She sat at the pavement waiting for the cab that she booked to take her home as the car (borrowed from a friend) she drove, broke midway . It was cold and creepy. She was getting nervous. There were no vehicles passing by and at that hours even rickshaws were not available. She was driving home after attending her colleague's birthday party

Suddenly, she saw a shadow behind a tree located at the opposite direction. She stood up immediately and called out . She was desperate to leave that place . It was too eerie. She needed help. The taxi was taking time to fetch her. The darkness and loneliness was killing her to the core.

The silence of the dark nite

" Koyi hain vahan". There was no reply. But she could feel a presence of a human nearby. She took slow steps towards the tree. Perhaps someone was trapped and needed help indeed. But there was no one.

She felt relieved when she saw the headlights of an approaching car. Her cab arrived. As she turned away from the tree to walk towards the car, she felt a cold chill ran down her spine when a woman's soft voice called out her name.

" Tejo".

She was shocked and looked back but no one was there. " Mam ajao", the taxi driver's polite voice interrupted . She quickly moved towards the cab. There was something she couldn't understand. Her shoulders felt heavy when she took a seat in the vehicle. Her head spinned and she fell unconscious.

Minutes later

She could hear a deep voice along with some water sprinkled on her face. "Are u okay mam?".

She smiled and nodded. The driver found her expressions a little strange but he just continued driving.

Twenty minutes later.

Sati was shocked to see the smiling tejo standing right at the front entrance when half hour earlier she (tejo) sounded so nervous on the phone stating that the cab was taking time and she was all alone .

The whole family was at the next village attending Dolly's niece's sangeet function and no one was picking up her (sati) frantic calls to inform her daughter's state of anxiety after having her car broke down on a lonely road middle of the nite.

She couldn't even take a rickshaw to reach to her daughter as there were none available at that time and the next door neighbor left two days earlier to town to visit his sick mother.

" Shukar hain , tu thik thak pahunchgeyi". She rushed forward and hugged her daughter. "

Ten minutes later, tejo's bedroom

Sati was surprised to see her beloved daughter deep in slumber. Tejo never fall asleep without having her nite glass of milk . From young she couldn't sleep without drinking it. Sati sighed. People change with time.

As she walked towards the door she turned to look back at the sleeping tejo. She looked different. Sati could feel that something was amiss

Seconds later

Tejo opened her eyes at once after her mother left and sat up straight on her bed with an evil smirk.

Part two

10 am , Sunday at sandhus residence ,Moga

Everyone seated around her were shocked and puzzled to see the fifth aloo ka parotha munched so quickly and she was asking for more. When did tejo started eating so much?? She could barely finish one for breakfast . She had a small appetite.

She looked like she hasn't eaten for days

Harman to rupi nervously

" Yeh humari tejo hi hain na".

Rupi gave him a sleepy look. They returned almost 3 am the previous nite from a social gathering.

" Meri beti ko nezer mat legao", he sipped his tea while taunting his older brother. He was glad that his favorite princess was enjoying her meal.

" Sati , usko do aur dedo," he instructed his wife , smiling widely. Sati was irritated. Tejo will end up getting tummy upset

"Mummy , aur lao aur do gelas lassi key bhi melai markey". Tejo's loud voice interrupted her deep thoughts.

Biji to dolly, still confused

" Legta hain kal raat seheli key birthday par kuch khane key liye nehin mila. Isliye raat ka khana aur nashta aek sath kha rehi hain"

Dolly nodded in agreement while sipping her cup of tea , puzzled as well , seeing her niece's sudden growing appetite.

Just then Dilraj came to see her with his school books.

" Didi , pls help kardo" to which she replied sweetly. "Maths key new short cut formulas dikhati hun".

While eating her breakfast she taught him easy maths calculation Dilraj was weak in that subject and tejo always tried her best to help him. But he struggled hard to understand the numerical sums. Today was different. His sister was a magic. He could understand her very clearly and he found the short cut formulas easy to apply.

An hour after breakfast

She walked 2 kms towards the grocery store . Sati requested her to purchase some vegetables. She perspired from head to toe as she reached home . Sati was confused. " Tune rickshaw nehin li". She shook her head . " Dur nehin hain. Only two kilometres" to which her mother was taken by surprise thinking to herself. Tejo doesn't like to walk even 1 km . She always take rickshaw or taxi wherever she went. Now look at her. . Even two kilometres are not far for her.

Minutes later

She went to the backyard and started repairing a broken fence . Sati was working in the kitchen preparing lunch , watching her closely from the window while Dolly was giving biji a head massage and the men as well as the kids took off to their crop fields to spray some fertilizer.

The mother was extremely puzzled. Since when tejo knew how to repair a fence . She was still deep in thoughts when her daughter's sweet voice interrupted her

" Mummy thoda hat jao. Sink pipe thik karna hain". Sati obeyed and took few steps away still couldn't believe her eyes

3 pm lunch time, sandhus

She ate three plates of rajma chawal and drank four glasses of lassi. Followed by two bowls of gajar ka halwa and three bowls of ice cream

All sandhus confused like hell except rupi who was delighted that his daughter was eating whole heartedly. She went through lots of pain lately. She deserved to be happy. He was relieved to see her enjoying her food while laughing and chatting with the family. This is my real tejo. She went missing months back. Thank u babaji for returning to me my beloved sweet daughter

5pm

More surprises came in the evening when they saw her doing martial arts at the roof top. She was coaching her excited little brother. Since when did tejo learn karate. Dolly taunted sati

" Karate, judo , phuto key liye bhej ti thi aur mujhey betaya bhi nehin". Sati replied confused, " didi, mujhey nehin peta kahan sey sikha".

The grandma interrupted excitedly" college key bachon ney sikhaya hoga. Pura din toh udhar hi rehti hain".

After that she made a few paper kites and enjoyed the fun of playing them with her three brothers at the roof top. The siblings were confused. Tejo never liked to play kites.

11pm bedroom

She sat facing the dressing room table looking at the mirror. It was not her reflection.. She was not tejo but someone else

She was a ghost. Tejo was posessed

She smiled to herself. Her plan was working. The family didn't suspect anything.

She needed to execute her plan fast . She only had very few days in hand.

The same nite

1 am at sandhus roof top

She enjoyed the fresh breeze of the cool nite wind with a cup of coffee. She couldn't sleep. Her past haunted her

A flashback of a week ago,

She was extremely shocked to see them both in bed . Her very own bedroom in her bungalow , Hoshiarpur. Her own sister and husband involved in an extra marital affair. God that was extremely painful and shocking. They didn't expect to see her home soon from a business trip

" Mihu, it's not what u think", her husband , dev , tried to move forward to console her . She ran towards the staircase down to the living room but she slipped and fell right to the bottom , landed on the cold hard marble floor, unconscious with a broken neck. She died then and there.

Mihika Chauhan, 27 yrs old entrepreneur , a genius and sportswoman passed away due to an accidental death on the same day she discovered that her husband and sister were involved in an EMA. It was shocking and disheartening.

A kind, generous woman lost her life in mere seconds. Also known as ' jack of all trades'. Some even named her ' wonder woman' . Mihika was loved by many and especially her dad , Ajay Chauhan. Her mother, Neelima Chauhan died in labour during the birth of her sister, Risha Chauhan when she was only five. They were two siblings. Mihika handled the family business after her dad fell ill and passed away due to lung cancer two years ago. Risha was always jealous of her

Mihika outperformed her younger sister in every aspect. She loved her sibling dearly. Dev was her father's friend's son. The marriage was arranged with family blessings. She was not ready yet she gave in for her dad's wishes. Her family mattered to her the most. She took care of her sister well. Mihika missed her mom dearly and made sure her sibling received all the love she deserved. A sister as well as a mother's love.

Tears roiled down her cheeks as she sipped her coffee. She had a short life to live. All thanks to her evil sister who snatched every valuable second of her life.

She roamed without a body , restless . The heaven doors were not opened for her as yet. As they say the soul that had an untimely death will never be in peace till justice prevails. She was helpless. But someone out there did the justice for her. Her ex schoolmate, Pooja .

Four days after her death, her sibling and husband were arrested for murder charges. All credit goes to Pooja who already suspected about their affair much earlier and even told mihika but she ignored. Pooja filed a FIR against the duo and crime branch was involved in the thorough investigation. There were oil drops at the edges of the staircase. It was all planned. It was a murder. 'She will see them and run downstairs to her death'

Her evil sister planned her murder.
