How was ur day today

Mine was fantastic. Something i want to share. related to the thread but not eerie. I can't write in other threads. Not related. This is extremely amusing and unbelievable.

Ms. Yan ( my roommate) met iqbal Hisham ( the gardener) on Saturday morning but she couldn't understand the full story well due to his local dialects. He's a Pakistani Malaysian . English not very fluent. I was off on weekend.

On Friday he left after prayers . So i didn't get the chance to see him

Today i met him at lunch in the dining . He naratted in Hindi But i will translate in English. My workshop was scheduled between 8 to 9 am and 4 to 5.30pm one morning and one evening session with a brief staff ( 20 min) meeting in the afternoon after lunch. So i stayed back. Didn't return to the hotel. Yan was also busy. She had full day on her toes

He joined the campus in jan 1990 and few months later, the night head of security ( Matthew) joined . He stated that both of them came in the same year. He apparently knew a lot. Mostly what Matthew had stated but a little more in detail. There were the other three gardeners seating with us. They joined after 2005. The earlier ones left. Only iqbal was still there.

Those days he stated they had seven. Now only four. Varsity is cutting cost. A lot of work. Four of them need to handle. But they get good allowances and also full medical benefits. Food is free at the campus. Breakfast , lunch and tea break. They usually take off by 4 pm except fridays a little earlier. Saturday half day. Sunday off They start early at 7.30 am .

In 1988 , the university introduced agriculture science as a compulsory subject for science faculty . The backyard of the campus was planned for the botanical works. Plantation and agriculture. For students practical sessions The work started in june 1989 till may 1990.

So when he applied, instantly he rcvd the job. They needed labour at that time for the works of the botanical project. Seven gardeners with extra four on board. Total were eleven . The four were temporary till dateline was accomplished.

At that time there was only one main kitchen located at the back of the campus. Later on as students intake increased, each faculty had their own kitchen and dining including other facilities( library computer lab,etc)

For labour works, they needed to move around and the campus was really huge. So they rode on bikes. Walking was tiring. In fact many students and staffs brought in vehicles. Easy to move around. I have seen that. The faculty i worked( business - management marketing economics statistics and human resources) was near the main entrance. I didn't have much walking to do. Can get lift from students or staffs if required. Decided to exercise a little. It was just fifteen minutes walk from the entrance.

This incident took place in end of jan 1990 , just fifteen days after he joined the campus. Very unbelievable. I decided to share. Not eerie but very funny

Six students- two boys/ four girls ( language faculty - literature studies) were playing the spirit coin game in classroom around 9 am after breakfast . They were boarders. Class was suppose to start at 10 am. They came early, waiting for their lecturer. There were few more seated as well , busy chatting.

Tbh i have played this game when i was a kid ( primary school). It was a famous game in Malaysia in the 80's and 90's. After 2007 , it was banned coz of possessed cases. Very few . I don't believe . I think it was not the same game maybe they played smtg else which was serious.

The one which i used to play with my school mates was - take a piece of paper. Write what u want like years or months or initial of alphabets or numbers. Then place a coin in the circle in the center resting ur forefinger on it. Ask the spirit question like which year will i get married. Then the coin will move with ur finger still on it to the year or month or date u wrote on the paper. That's it. Some ask questions like what would be my boyfriend or husbands name etc.

Actually the coin doesn't move by itself. The player moved it by himself or herself just to scare the others for fun. Throughout the years my friends played this. Nothing happened. It was basically like just entertainment type fooling around one another but nothing serious. Just a game. Nothing more

Perhaps some did to extreme levels or sophisticated techniques, that i wouldn't know. All i knew was it was just a simple fun game. Apparently didn't turn out well as the yrs passed. Few serious cases happened. It was banned later on

Coming back to the incident

Everything went ok. The six were enjoying playing while the rest few were busy chatting. Suddenly they stood up, started screaming . Hysterical. Running around the classroom. Hitting their heads against the wall and breaking the tables and chairs. The others panicked and ran out screaming that everyone around could hear them. Five thousand two hundred and forty six students were present at the campus at that time, all ran away. The professors who were teaching in the classroom and staffroom as well and the office staffs, the librarians and even the principal himself. All ran out of the campus. It was a total chaos. Just imagine, the principal also freaked out.

That was so hilarious. I laughed hard when he naratted to me. Even he couldn't stop laughing. This was the first ever incident that took place when he joined the varsity and he couldn't forget throughout the yrs. A cherished memory.

The boarders who were still asleep ran off in their pyjamas , those taking shower luckily wore some clothes before running , those having meals at the dinings also ran away leaving their meals half way. Some took their plate and ran . Why waste the food. Perhaps they were hungry.

The six ras**** created a huge chaos . Literally chased everyone away. The campus was empty in mere thirty minutes after the incident took place. Only and only the three security guards who were stationed at the main post didn't leave afraid losing job. In charge of main entrance security. They didn't run but locked the main gate and stood outside. They were nervous. Panicked . Didn't know what to do. Who to call for help. Principal himself ran away. A crisis situation arose. No one to take charge. Campus was abandoned.

Iqbal and the ten others were busy working at the backyard as well as the main kitchen staff busy preparing lunch. There were total thirty two of them working behind at the campus not realizing the happenings at the main area. They were 1.5 kms away. Couldn't hear anything.

One more unbelievable incident that day.

Two auditoriums held exams for third semester papers,1989 batch. Maths for engineering foundation students and taxation for accoutancy graduates. They were located aprox 270 metres away from the incident. Not really far.

The invigilators heard noise from outside and went to see. They also panicked after finding out and took off on the spot leaving the students stranded at the auditorium doing their exams. The engineering studs also ran away but the accountancy wale didn't. Taxation is one of the toughest papers in finance. So they used that golden opportunity to cheat. 385 students. Not one ran. All phat fat copy . Then placed the paper at the front desk and then only took off. They cheated.

At 11 am. One of the kitchen staff rode on his bike towards the office to sign out early as his wife had an appointment with her gynae . Was shocked to see no one around. The whole campus was empty. Not a single soul insight.

The he rang the others who were still working behind. They were shocked as well. Then they also left their work mid way and took off to the main gate still wondering what happened. The three security guards then told them. The head chef turned out a smart fellow. He rang the fire brigade. Two fire brigade came asking where was the fire then he told them about the incident. They were upset . u should call a priest. They hesitated then iqbal said i told them we are many. There are only six of them. Even if they are possessed we can still handle. So the gardeners, the three guards , the kitchen staff and the fire brigade members went in. Approx fifty plus person. They took the holy Quran with them . One kitchen staff took off to his home to get it. They waited for him then only they entered the campus. Iqbal stated they were scared to death. Fighting with spirits was not funny.

Bechare Quran leke each one mumbling prayers quietly reached the spot. The classroom door was open. No sound. Then two of them peeped. They sighed a relief. All six on the floor unconscious bleeding badly. Blood all over and whole class in a mess. Broken furniture. Blood on the walls. They contacted ambulances. He didn't have a mobile phone. Could have recorded. Those days where to get one.

The students recovered but couldn't recall their deeds. Don't really know what happened. They didn't continue study. Rusticated(expelled) for creating a massive chaos putting all in danger. Principal rcvd warning letter . Running away during crisis when u are main in charge. It's a shame the labours handled it wisely. All of them, the gardeners the three security guards and main kitchen staff rcvd two months bonus for that year.

The principal retired in 2003. A new lady came. The current one is a male. In mid forties. Local Malaysian but born and educated in Australia. Married an Aussie lady as well. He speaks very fluent English. Angrez wala style. Good looking as well. Mother Malaysian ,father Australian .

I will be meeting him on Friday for lunch before leaving. My sessions over by Thursday. Friday morning just going to office to submit the paperworks and reports of students performances. My train departure was at 1 pm . Now reschedule to 4 pm

Reason

I informed my boss about the ragging in the dorm on Saturday. Well he needs to know what his staff was put through. I haven't inform my husband. He will freak out. Will tell him after i reach home.

My boss was furious. The uni requests them for their staff expertise and this is how they are treated. He emailed a stern letter to the management stating no employees from his organization will accept the offer for the guest lectures in future. Also legal action can be taken. Under housekeeping rules, warden is necessary for dorms. How come eighty students dormitory no caretaker?? And why staff hostel not vacant. Is it meant as a show room??

Today evening , they responded apologzing stating due to covid there were pay cuts and some warden were unhappy and left. They were still recruiting. The staff hostel had maintenance issues. Some staffs still working online.

All kind of stories.

The principal rang at 7 pm when i was in the shower. Ms yan picked up. Then i rang him back.

So Friday lunch with him at his office.

Buttering chal raha hain. All credit to my boss.

Not only that. My daily allowance was rm 160 perday. They round it to two hundred.

The hostel was issued warning letter this morning. One more time. They will be rusticated(expelled) The students came apologizing in the morning itself.

I told them it was not funny. People can get shock or heart issues.

Leaving in four days. Relieved the journey coming to end. 🙏🙏
