This song to me defines what they mean when they say RK-Nargis set the screen on fire! Just look at the simmering passion with them barely touching! This is the true definition of chemistry!

Hainaaa!! Also I love how there's this slight difference when Nargis says dum bhar Jo udhar muh phere o Chanda while RK says dum bhar jo idhar muh phere o Chanda, indirectly calling her the moon. ❤️ It's so subtle yet lovely!

I actually interpreted it differently. It’s like him telling the moon he’s not afraid of showing his love for her to the moon- idhar mooh phere O chanda.. whereas she’s still shy and wants to hide her love for him from the moon—- udhar mooh phere. She’s telling the moon to look away whereas he’s telling the moon to bear witness to their love!

That one is more apparent, but as it is Shailendra, there's always more layers to it. ❤️
p.s. when I was looking at my lover, I didn't look into his eyes for more than a minute and he kept asking why I'm not looking at him 🙈, I was like if I look into your eyes, you won't be able to stand here, it's gonna be too intense. Yes, I was shy and the whole song is just perfect describing what I did on my date!☺️I'd want everyone to look away.

RK-Nargis bring to mind another lead pair from those times- DK- Madhubala. Now theirs is an undeniable chemistry. It jumped and sparked and sizzled right out of the screen. And they had to do nothing but look at each other.
'Prem Jogan banke' from Mughal-e-Azam is an example, especially the part where he's stroking her face with a feather. And this was when they weren't even on speaking terms. Goes to show the caliber of acting!
But this song- this is when their real-life love affair had just begun and it shows. Nothing much happens. He lays on a haystack, she caresses his face, he closes his eyes, she strokes his face, he kisses her hand (very subtly, you don't even see it), occasionally he opens his eyes to gaze upon her, he plays with her hair, she smiles, he tugs at her hair, she lays her head beside his, he smiles,
And BAM! Chemistry!
If I could bottle it up and sell what they did there on screen, I could make millions! 😆

Teesri Kasam has phenomenal songs but this one, and Sajan Re jhoot mat bolo stand out for the lyrics and Sajanwa Bairi ho gaye humar stands out in every way - music, lyrics, singing everything!
