Just a query I watch Sirf Tum where there is high voltage drama for a good 20 mins. Not used to such melodrama so Yrkkh strikes a balance as it is pretty simple, they take time to build up d drama.
My question is whether the show is not engaging for the audiences?
@bold - it all depends on the conflicts that are shown. They don't need to be high voltage where crime upon crime is taking place, making the viewers stay at the edge of their seats. The conflicts can be low-risk, but they have to be reasonable enough so that the audience remains invested in the story and connected to the characters.
What the writers for S3 have done is that they have made us connect to the characters, but not invested in the story. We empathize with AbhiRa, Manjiri, Parth etc., but the conflicts that they show for the characters aren't that great as of now. This whole misunderstanding that cropped up is super illogical and it only happened because NONE of the characters communicated with one another. Given today's time and the technology that they have shown within the show itself, it doesn't make sense for this sort of misunderstanding to take place.
If they had stuck to Abhimanyu's initial characterization of not believing in marriages or being highly skeptical of them, they could have created a conflict of him being attracted to Akshara but wanting to have a live-in relationship with her. Or dating her, without any future of strong commitments. Akshara however, who is the opposite of Abhimanyu in the sense she is all about family, will be against such an idea. But she doesn't deny her feelings for him and still continues to date him.
Even with Manjiri, they could have shown her confusion between Arohi and Akshara, have it cleared, and yet show her being reluctant to Akshara as she wanted a working woman of the same status as Abhi. Akshara could have shown her that these things shouldn't hold importance in marriage, and Manjiri could have opened up about her own marriage problems. This way, both ladies get to bond, learn from each other and grow into better versions of themselves.
Idk, there are just so many different conflicts they can show that will keep the viewers hooked. All these new entries that are supposed to be "love interests" and act as obstacles for the main couple is becoming highly tiresome. We have seen from numerous TV shows that such angles never do well. Characters get dumbed down and butchered and relationships that were previously healthy, unnecessarily become toxic.
The viewers who are tuning in at the moment may be fans of particular actors but as for the show overall, it doesn't hold the same audience as it used to. For the couple quotient, the charisma is top-notch, but for the family vibe, not so much. Idk what it is, but there is just something lacking. A warmth, or perhaps a kindness. Idk if we would ever get those back in any shows though.
