Coming out and celebrating Diwali doesnt mean that he needs to go outside and start bursting crackers,it meant that he returned to the party.

Ustaadji said that he has never celebrated it after his brother's death.Which means,I am sure others would have tried to call him before (Mrs.Batra,Ustaadji,Mr Batra, maybe Faizi too) in previous diwali celebrations too but he never came.

I dont think he would have suddenly decided to come for the 'cadets'. He is suffering from this for long ,cadets wouldnt have changed his mind. Not even a single cadet was even bothered because as Faizi said ,they have accepted that Karan is like this. Only Monami made an effort to bring him out from darkness.

He didnt have that unhappy or pained smile when he came back. He was genuinely happy and wished Monami on his own.

Coming to the picnic and here are two different things. For the picnic he made an effort because uska as such kuch loss nahi tha but coming to the party was a huge thing for him. He had to challenge his fears and come out. He wouldnt have decided to celebrate it because cadets will feel bad/upset/he is their leader.

The situation was too deep than that.

@Red: Even if assumes that Monami's word affects him, after pondering over which he opens the door, then why this sudden change now when in past others too tried to call him before just like you said @blue ? He never listen to others, his closed ones then, but then what just made him to listen Monami now? It can't be just like that.

A complex person like him can't easily listen to words of an outsider, when he never gives much importance to words of his closed ones. Something has definitely happened, which has made him listen to the person, who is not closed to him.

~He realised he was wrong about Monami, while others, his loved ones like Faizi, Bhabhi, Col.Batra who were trying to make him see the real Monami, were right about her. He even confessed this before Col. Batra in his office.

Agar usse farak nahi padta toh organ trading track mein, Sanju ke yeh batane ke baad bhi ki Monami Sid ke saath hain, woh phone call ko lekar itna pareshan nahi hota. If his cadets don't affect him then he wouldn't have allowed them to help in that track, after listening their reasons. Agar usse koi farak nahi padta toh woh Koel se woh aise sawaal canteen mein nahi puchta, balki Koel ko apni office me bula ke puchta, usse farak nahi padta toh Dr Mahajan ke samne har baar, ek trainer hone ke nate Monami ki dhaal nahi banta. Agar ratti bhar bhi cadets ke hone se usse farak na padta toh picnic mein Faizi ko yunn nahi daanta Sid ke spiking drinks kaand ke liye, na hi Sanju ko Bala ke firecrackers burnt karne ke liye chahe woh kitna bhi apne aap par gussa kyun na ho, Monu ke quit karne ke reason se.

@ orange: I called it plastered smile because his smile was for others not for himself. He smiles, not because he want to smile, poore dil se... because he doesn't want to be the reason of anyone's sadness.

@violet: I don't think so, they are much different. Karan has closed the doors of happiness the day he lost his brother. Everytime he struggles with those memories and challenges his fears when he attends any kind of happy occasions. In the picnic too, when Dilbagh Ji requests him to say something, he sings the song and not let his memories to stop him living that moment. The situations are never simple and flat for him.

I agree I literally put fingers in my ears cauz it was that bad but jis pyaar sa ussa woh dekh raaha tha was adorable.😊😊😊
