@Pink: If he was about to close the door from outside that means he has already decided to go outside and celebrate diwali with all, which wasn't the case.

Reason: He is not shown as thinking something after reading the second note, but it happens from 5:16 to 5:29 min.

🥇First: He came for his 'cadets' only including Monami too as cadet only.

Reasons:

🔸He starts thinking something after reading second note + Faizi's words about cadets in past (mentioned above)

🔸2nd point in his pehli baat which he tells to Monami that Khadoos Shergill ki wajah se sabhi diwali kharaab ho jaaye, that's not right.

🔸Karan is always shown as a leader/trainer who is always there for his junior and cadets.

His scene with Sanju when he says to her that she is not Sanju but SA.Sanjana Dubey and makes her feel better after the disastrous date incident. He also comes to Koel to know the reason why Rawat calls her name as main witness.

Now, after knowing what all Monami has done for him, for baby, for others, also after understanding that he misunderstood her as other privileged rich kids, Karan uski diwali unhappy nahi hone de sakta. He is compensating in installments for all above.

🥈Second: Him wishing her with smile.

Karan knows very well how to hide his pain and smiles for others. Baby ki liye aajtak woh yahi karta aaya hain. He comes out of the room plastering a smile on his face, it's not just for Monami, Ustadji se bhi woh halki si smile ke saat hi baat kar raha tha.

🥉Third: Him wishing Monami

When Karan is not in Khadoos mode, and he has to say his 2 baatein then he doei starts his 2things directly, kuch na kuch pehle bolna zaroori hain usko, mudde ki baat par baad mein aata hain, as when he comes to Monami saying Sorry after her return back to academy.

Other time when his Khadoos mode is on he says his 2 baatein directly, when he comes to Monami's room after locking up Sid in jail.

If that's the actual and only reason, he goes directly to her after coming outside and is not looking here and there(11:33 to 11:37 min), she's just before eyes. The place is not even crowded(11:23min) Also after looking at her he can make some excuse to Ustadji and can go to Monami but he doesn't. He continues his talk with UstadJi.

If he doesn't want to open with her or let her know that he is somewhat opening to her, he never tells her that he is not a social person to Monami that day when he comes to say Sorry. He can end it just by saying Sorry for his behaviour in jeep. On shopping too, he never says to her that "kash woh aisa kar pata" when she talks about sharing pain.

He knows what all Monami has done for him so he does make an effort to listen to what she has to say.(Yes,could be that he is compensating /remembers Faizi's words)

It did affect him when she said that 'you have made me face my fears so you also need to do the same'.

He pondered over it and then opened the door.

Coming out and celebrating Diwali doesnt mean that he needs to go outside and start bursting crackers,it meant that he returned to the party.

Ustaadji said that he has never celebrated it after his brother's death.Which means,I am sure others would have tried to call him before (Mrs.Batra,Ustaadji,Mr Batra, maybe Faizi too) in previous diwali celebrations too but he never came.

I dont think he would have suddenly decided to come for the 'cadets'. He is suffering from this for long ,cadets wouldnt have changed his mind. Not even a single cadet was even bothered because as Faizi said ,they have accepted that Karan is like this. Only Monami made an effort to bring him out from darkness.

He didnt have that unhappy or pained smile when he came back. He was genuinely happy and wished Monami on his own.

Coming to the picnic and here are two different things. For the picnic he made an effort because uska as such kuch loss nahi tha but coming to the party was a huge thing for him. He had to challenge his fears and come out. He wouldnt have decided to celebrate it because cadets will feel bad/upset/he is their leader.

The situation was too deep than that.

True. Karan is a super complex character. He might not be a socially adept person, but he is an amazing person nevertheless.

But the most intriguing thing that I found was that he knows what he's doing is wrong, for himself and the people around him- like wallowing in guilt, emotionally blocking himself, hurting himself physically and emotionally. Perhaps he thinks he's beyond saving? Because the wall punch scene with Sanj made me 100% sure that he knows hes wrong, that is the whole reason he was trying to prevent Sanj from going down the same path as he did, the path of guilt.

I just want Monami to break down his walls and tell him he's worth it and let him know it's not his fault.....or just bring back Param :')
