Aarohi vs Akshara - why one has more substance than the other!

ITV is back at it again, love triangle is teh trend of the year and here is a new one... between sisters... AGAIN!Anyway, it is quite clear the Akshara is meant to be the new FL and abhira is the new couple while Aarohi will be villainous, venomous sister.

Aarohi:

Aarohi has faced clear childhood trauma, she saw her mother running after Akshara and then dying because of it in front of her eyes. At a such a young and tender age it is an extremely traumatic experience. The immediate resentment towards her sister is a natural response. It is often misplaced anger and guilt.

In most cases this decreases over the years but the show in the first episode itself made it quite apparent that her wound is still quit raw. As a result Aarohi has resolved to being academically inclined. She is an emotionally independent and ambitious woman who knows what she wants and works hard for it. She is competitive and clear headed.

Her bitterness towards her sister is quite apparent (thankfully saves her from becoming two faced) but is also hurtful and maybe even excessive. This flaw makes her human and emotionally vulnerable.

So we have an educated, independent, strong woman.

Akshara:

Akshara has the qualities of a typical FL. She is sweet and innocent. Has no apparent ambition but is clear headed. She likes her music and she wants to work for an NGO. However, she is also craving for her sisters love and approval. She also in like two episodes has let her self respect be crushed by her sister and yet continues to cling on to her. Get the hint and live your own life! she clearly doesn't have a. backbone.

The panic attack makes her vulnerable and in the need of protection, but good job for showing mental health is a very real thing.

The actress also comes across as a bit annoying :(

My question now is why is the strong woman always the villain? can men not love strong woman? imo aarohi would have made a better FL, as a character and the actress too is doing a great job.

I also think there is a lot of scope between Aarohi and Abhimanyu. The both are doctors and Abhimanyu beat Aarohi, knowing she is very competitive there will always be this resentment. In the workplace the try to beat each other and while doing so fall in love. It can be a good workplace romance with a competitors or foes turn lovers trope.

And Aarohi's competitiveness and hurt is justified.

You also have to remember that Akshara grew up with the mentality that she needs to look after her sister, and not to take what she says to heart. Plus wasn't sirats dying wish was for Akshara to look after aarohi, imagine the pressure on the poor girl.

Also since Mahima didn't like Akshara, she will be in favour of getting Abhi married to Aarohi.

Eventually she might get her son Parth married to Aarohi

If Aarohi has faced trauma,what about Akshu?

She lost her mother when she was less than even a year,when she grew up believing Sirat to be her real mother the truth came across her shockingly(nobody calmly told her,she just got to know from a third person),that itself is enough for a child to be traumatized in that age,then when she started to learn living with the truth,she lost her mother again along with her father.

And what is Akshu's fault if Sirat came to her and fell down,she did not call them to come to her.

And even I agree that at the heat of the moment,the person says things but it's been 12 years,more than a decade,but still she behaves as if Akshu is some adopted child...someone please remind Aarohi that thus is Akshu's house and Akshu's family first and she can meet them and her mother Sirat was a replacement.

I totally totally agree that Akshu needs to stop pleasing Aarohi and maintain her self respect. So glad that Manish Dadi and Kairav are siding Akshu and hope it continues this way in future when Aarohi will brutally blame and mentally torture Akshu.

Arohi has been always jealous of akshu and looked more like she tolerated her. She was very vile when she found out her sister is not from her mom. If it was another she would be comforting her sister and telling it doesnt matter so her resentment didnt start from her mom’s death it was always there towards akshu.

Akshu is the one who is living with the guilt that because of her sirat died. She is still traumatized by it. Her mom put big responsibility of her of taking care of her little sister. I hope soon she gives up and ignores her tantrums.

so not looking forward to seeing two girls fighting over a man. I guess the fighting will be one sided but still

I understand you are basing it on post leap episodes, but please consider the teenage scenarios as well before drawing comparisons. You can still choose Aarohi > Akshara if you'd like, just make sure you have all the information under your belt 😊

It's a switch. Young aarohi was the weaker actress and young akshu the better actress. Now the older arohi is the better actress and older akshu the weaker actress. Seriously the young arohi was unlikable because of how whiny the actress was and there was a maturity to the way young akshu acted.

I do have to add though that akshu has faced trauma herself... more than arohi given that akshu got to know that sirat isn't her mother and her real mother is dead, then losing her mother sirat and being blamed for her death by her sister. Arohi was anyways shown as slightly jealous of akshu and wanting to outdo akshu.

As others have pointed out arohi didn't particularly behave well with akshu even before sirat death. She was nasty towards akshu when she got to know akshu is not sirat daughter. The girl was always a rude brat which is why I don't like her even now as her treatment of akshu since they were kids was bad and I also dislike akshu being so clingy with this nasty piece of work arohi.

absolutely! Akshara has faced trauma too and there is no denying that. But when Sirat passed away she lost her mother figure, Aarohi lost her entire world. You said it yourself, in a house where her mother was seen no more than a 'replacement' she will never be loved like Akshara is. Akshara still had everybody, who did Aarohi have? No one.

Yes she is bitter, yes she is rude, but it took two seconds for everyonb in the house to shut her up the second she pointed a finger at Akshara. No on is ready to deal with the sadness and hurt behind her bitterness. In a house where her mother was just a shadow of Naira she too feels like a shadow of Akshara and who wants to live as a shadow of someone else?

It is Akshara's house and Akshara's family first and that is why Aarohi feels so alone. Everyday she is aware of the fact that this not hers but akshara's... and what is Aarohi's fault? that she is sirat's child? she is being punished because of who's child she is?

Imagine living in a house surrounded by people who are supposed to be family but never being loved that way. We all know the resentment Manish had towards Sirat, he is now channeling it on Aarohi (very minutely)

Aarohi's character has been set up in way that she will turn negative, she will do inexcusable things. But the way I see it her character has much more scope than akshara's. As a icing on the cake the actress who plays Aarohi, despite being a new comer, is so so so good. And the actress playing Akshara is a tad bit annoying.

like i said there is no denying that Akshara too has faced trauma (read my reply above) but I think there is an inherent bias towards Akshara and lack of empathy for Aarohi. I am just flagging out the substance behind why her character is like this. The fact that she has her flaws also makes her human, not a typical FL, strong and ambitious.

There is so much scope to her but makers are on the route to making her a villain.
