OMG..lot of discussion going on..can't read all now. But what caught my eye was that Pawan Ashish r composing few of the Octopus songs..that's a nice break..also liked whatever little I've heard from them so far..so expecting some good songs.

And relax, the people writing n composing the songs will be different from the ones who r teaching dance. M sure they are doing their job. Singers come in once songs r ready.

SMP is gonna rap. Which doesn't need dance steps..she is already a pro at performing with mic.

Imo the only thing which decides the sucess of the song is the BANNER under which the song is released , in today's times even the worst songs are blockbusters so no hopes for success of a good song until it's released on a channel of good music company such as Sony music India etc. (t series is beyond thier reach abhi )

If the song is released on 🐙 channel then the it's not gonna be a success however good might be the lyrics, composition, singing, locations, acting, dancing, rapping.

Raj Surani said in the launch event that they are composing some of the songs. The first two are by Dikshant Shaurya I think.

A lot of guests come to the Idol set and leave a lot of compliments behind. Many are highly qualified to comment but sometimes their compliments seem to lack genuineness.
For me "Maar Daala" was a performance where Kavita Krishnamurthy's words seemed to be straight from the heart (to me).

And, what great singing👌👏👏. As Javed Akhtar said in the program- yes, they do get a reference from a song already sung - but still 99.9% people don't sing it well - and Aru did a great job here. Infact even Lata Mangeshkar, in concerts (seen recorded - not live) does not quite often sing her own songs as beautifully as her studio versions.

And in that same episode she also proved how quickly she can pick up her own song without prior reference to copy. She was 1000 x better than Anu Malik in the same lines - and the small nuances she added!

Talking of praises - yes guests lot of times use to overboard with all of the contestants and so did the judges. Vishal, I don't like much, especially because of his attitude towards Aru in fist 15 episodes. But his praise of Aru in AR Rehman episode Ithought, were the best and maybe most genuine by any of tge judges.

Thanks. I was so upset with Vishal through the season that I missed his comments on this episode or ignored them. I revisited the episode. I agree with you.

I think Vishal sensed that Arunita would grab a top slot in the Finale and that would mean someone else he preferred would have to go or not finish in the top. Vishal was a huge backer of Neelanjana in Season 10 and I found it strange that he barely acknowledged Arunita. Neelu was good and very young but she was not close to Arunita in skills. I like Neelu a lot but I can clearly see the higher quality of Arunita. So, it was not just ability that affected Vishal's judgement.

Most years there is always one judge who is given the task of moderating praise. The role changes from contestant to contestant but it is play acted. My issue with Vishal was that he was not play acting as far as I know him, and I know him fairly well by now.

I always felt through the season, especially the 1st half, that there was every attempt by the show to underplay Arunita. Only the guests would generally save the day for her. It had a long term impact on the results because a lot of the voting public depend heavily on judge's comments to figure out who is a very good singer. She was so good though that she drew her own love from the public and that changed the whole equation for Sony/makers. Plus Vishal's exit and the entry of "Classical lover" Anu Malik was to her benefit.
