Percentage of Hindus in US is 0.7 % which is 2.23 million, Muslim is 1.1 % which is 3.45 million and Jews is 2.2 % which is 7.6 million . That is definitely not small . By your logic the number of Indians in US is insignificant ( which is not true at all ).

Everyone one wants to speak up but all they end up doing is make a lot of noise and lesser sense.

Indians are significant and we don’t have to go on rooftop and shout about it. It’s well known. IT sector will collapse without us. I believe in being valued by your work and not by constantly crying about it. Work speaks for itself.

Hindus and Muslims are still minorities. Christians make up for majority and so Christmas will be mainstream. No amount of crying can change that. If you want Diwali to be mainstream, go to India. And if you want Eid to be mainstream, there are 56 Islamic countries, you can choose whichever you want.

I celebrate Diwali every year in USA. Fireworks in my driveway. I have over 25-30 guests and we make a hullabo till like 10 PM. Never have I ever experienced a dislike about my festival.

NJ, PA when you go out on Hindu festivals, lot of people go about wearing desi clothes. I have gotten tons of compliments in supermarkets.

I am not denying racism but i don’t see it regularly. You can’t expect world to be ideal. America is made up of immigrants. You want American to be all inclusive and then you also have to accept America. It goes both ways. Assimilation is essential.

Worked at Chapters in HS. Was specifically told by my manager that we can only say "Merry Christmas" back...if a customer says it first. Btw this is Canada, not the US. 😆

There is no war on Christmas. It's just Republicans fear-mongering and trying to scare the white people that these brown minorities are going to take over. The general public doesn't care about any of this stuff.

With that said, minorities do make their presence felt wherever they get a significant number somewhere. There are some schools in NJ that give a day off for Diwali because there are Indian students there that lobbied for it. Nobody else has any problem with it either. Everyone is happy to get a day off.
