Just saw the BTS of the beating scene. Perhaps we should let them know how we feel about them making light of domestic abuse.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one feeling this way. If I make such posts about him people say I'm biased because I love the character instead of focusing on the point I'm making. I have called out Raghav's wrongdoings many times and will do so whenever I see it, like him bulldozing over Keerti's life for example. So if he is being wronged I will call it out too, not just here but in general. In fact, I do this for other characters too but people conveniently forget that and accuse me of blindly supporting him. I understood what he does and why, but that doesn't mean I accept or condone the bad things he does.

I remember all the fun people made of Milind when BWA hit him. I don’t get this mindset.

This is why toxic masculinity needs to be addressed, because society mocks guys for being beaten or doesn't take them seriously. This prevents them from speaking up and then you have a vicious cycle of abuse. It's not just about the physical pain, but more the emotional and mental harassment plus loss of dignity that hurts them.

It's so easy to get sidelined for being an RR supporter..

Ppl think we just like to support him in every thing he does which is not true, we voice out his shortcomings as well as his problems... ( ATs are proof as I stopped coming on MF)

I really don't like the way Raghav and amma handling Keerti resulting in her devious behaviour...

I have seen you voicing out the problems and issues of his character but all is filtered in hawa,

Yes it started with Milind getting beaten and it was funny I didn't find it funny that time, same as now..

I'm sure if it were the other way around these people would have been criticized or called out for condoning violence against women... double standards...

Really it's cute and funny for few of them...

And we are over reacting seriously...

Gender- reverse and the serial would have stopped right away...

Ppl taking this as comedy speaks a lot about the double standards and so called gender-neutral thinking...

Yes it was repititve and unnecessary, and not funny at all..

With role- reversal it would be scandalous and dangerous...

Forget about beating I can't even imagine Raghav hitting pall it would be so damaging both physically and mentally..

They need to think at this point...

I agree Girls like to hit and play sometimes with their bro, partner/ husband... It's just for fun though not to pour out frustration...

I hope they stop this ...

Her beating him and him raising his hand even in care or panic - not cool it's normalising violence...

I like the way you think it's hilarious and out of the box...

I like to take everything they give in the story...

I don't like to make a fuss about anything...

It's just that I knew no one will make any post like this on Raghav..

Raghav's issues are non- existent for the fans...

Either ppl don't care or mock

Or they just gush and praise...

No serious discussion on him or his issues

I clearly said in the first line itself the makers should stop showing stuff like this. Funny part was we as audience online analysing each and everything so much which maker don't even care about

I agree that there's too much violence on this show, but honestly, there are some scenes in which violence is dramatically effective.

Sulochana hitting Amruta was supposed to make us feel sorry for Amruta and disgusted by Sulochana. It worked for me; simply shouting wouldn't have conveyed how depraved Sulochana is. I saw a frightened child who had trusted her mother to help with an unplanned pregnancy, and an unfit mother who took out her frustration on her child. So, when Pallavi shielded Amruta and was kind to her, it wasn't unbelievably magnanimous; I understood Pallavi's sympathy.

Likewise, when Jaya slapped Raghav after he brought Pallavi back to the saṃgīta, it was meant to jolt us viewers to feel sympathy for Raghav because his mother saw him as a sexual predator. It worked for me. After Jaya told Raghav what she thought he had done, and Raghav explained that he had rescued Pallavi and said Kṣamiñcu anyway, the scene of Raghav crying while hugging Jaya's ghuṅgarū and Ajit's nādasvaram might have seemed like an overreaction. With the physical sting of Jaya's slap, it made more sense for Raghav to cry like that.

When Raghav was choking, yes, it would have been serious in real life, but we all knew that Raghav wouldn't die this way. So, I wasn't offended. I enjoyed the irony that Pallavi, who had just muttered that a few slaps could have fixed Raghav before too late, immediately got a chance to pound on him, and had to hit harder than she wanted to.

I wasn't offended that Pallavi hit Raghav with the soft broom, but the stick was unacceptable. If the genders were reversed, a husband could playfully hit his wife with a soft broom if they both understood that it's not intimidation. However, Raghav and Pallavi were just starting to trust each other at that time, and this playful hitting didn't seem believable.

Some posts in this thread have asked, what if it was Raghav being violent to Pallavi? The show wouldn't survive, right? Well, he has behaved threateningly or overpowered her many times. I'll just mention two occasions.

First, when he was at the courthouse to bail out Jaya and Kirti, and she thought he was there to interfere in her stay-of-eviction order, he raised his hand to hit her and she cringed, and then he shoved her onto her lawyer (Jaydip). I suppose that was meant to show that Raghav has a temper and hates Pallavi, and still managed to limit his violent reaction, but it just seemed gratuitous to me.

Second, when Vijay was in jail and Pallavi was scolding Raghav, he gagged her, held her wrists, and slung her over his shoulder. I thought that the person who was watching them would record it and publish photos to embarrass Raghav, but no, the scene was comedy to show how unconventional this loving couple is. It was just demeaning and male chauvinistic.

I have read the whole thread so far, so please don't feel the need to repeat what you've already written - but it's up to you, of course. Please don't hesitate to tell me if I've offended you.
