Which is why anytime any Muslim celeb has made a critical comment about India they always get told to go back to pakistan. As if that's their country.

I don't blame you. You probably have been around this sort of conversation so often that it's now ingrained. Someone somewhere might have made that statement and you just thought briefly and hindsight bias, couldn't think of a patriotic movie recently and came to this conclusion. But even the thought is prejudiced and bigoted. Indian Muslims are as Indian as anyone else. They don't need to prove it

At the same time it's only in India that a Celeb can get away with naming their children Taimur & Jahangir, both known for their mass genocide's of the native's. Try naming your child Hitler in Israel.

These twitter controversies are trivial compared to the monumental adulation, fame they enjoy as a minority. Not in a 100 years will 3 Kumars/Kapoors/Singhs rule any "industry" in an Islamic country. India has its own sets of flaws but its generations ahead when it comes to acceptance of "Others".

Ahh typical. Yes, let's compare ourselves with a country that is not accepting of outsiders instead of comparing ourselves to countries like US or UK. Maybe compare with Afghanistan as well next time to make yourself feel better

Good to see your comparison is also countries with similar faults. Very high standards 👍

P.S. which mass genocide did Jahangir do? Do enlighten.

Well, how does it make you feel being from a country where minorities are almost completely wiped out. I've never seen you write a piece on that? But lets judge India based on a few twitter trolls.

No, my comparison is with countries much worse off.

Jahangir tortured and killed the 5th Sikh Guru, Hindu at that time since Sikhism didn't exist till much later. He destroyed countless temples, Idol's & Priests. He massacred Jains & Banished them. Sure, this might be on a smaller scale when compared to Taimur, who killed more people than everyone else combined but regardless the fact that you can get away with naming your "Kids" after these two leaves your earlier post ineffective. The real India is still extremely liberal, Twitter Trolls notwithstanding.

I know you're obligated to defend everything Saif & Kareena but their attention seeking tactics went a little too far this time.

The most idiotic thing in all this is that Jehangir was actually nutty enough to want himself as substitute to the prophet 😅. He even got a couple of followers. He slaughtered people who supported his son as usurper, but what that had to do with religion, I don't know.

Also, FYI. There are Palestinian kids named Hitler and Saddam. They face some trouble. Dare say less trouble than they'd have faced in the U.S. or Canada.

Also, the Holocaust was in the 1940s. Some of those who lived through it are still around. Huge difference between that and a Mughal emperor.

How so? If Holocausts claimed 6M jew lives, the Muslim crusaders have claimed multiple times more lives than that. What’s your point?

@Blue: You mean to say the victims of the Muslim massacre have suddenly all fallen off the earth?😆

We have to leave the past in the past and move on into the future without holding any grudges whether it happened yesterday or thousands of years ago. But dismissing off the pain because it happened 200 years ago is not the right way to do it.

I'm not blind to Pakistan's faults, nor will I run to defend it at every opportunity when it's wrong. It's called being secure and critical about your roots and knowing reality. But sure, if putting another country down makes you feel better about the fault in yours, go for it dude. 👍

Why would I talk about Pakistan here? On India forums Bollywood section? How is it remotely related to this section? How are Saif and Kareena related to this section? You're the one that pulled them in coz you felt "threatened" that an outsider is pointing out faults and decided to pull them in.🤣

My comment is directly in response to a topic which isn't about Pakistani actors, but Indian Muslim actors FYI. If you want to make a topic about Pakistani actors you can do that and I'd love to contribute but maybe wrong section?

I wonder how many people Asoka killled compared to Jehangir? But he's not Muslim no problem with that name 😂

Oh please, Ashoka is revered not because of his "Killings" but because of the remorse he felt after. How he spent the rest of his life dedicated to non-violence, Spirtituality & the upliftment of the common folk. Terrible example.

You should go re-read your earlier post. Ton's of generalizations on there implying that Muslim actors somehow live in some sort of perpetual fear based on a couple of twitter trolls. The Muslim actors have it great in India, more so than they would have anywhere else. Political statements by "Any" actor will receive a similar response on SM from a particular section of society...Hindu or Muslim.

Also, is it really that difficult to stay focused on a topic without getting personal with members?

My opinion is as valid as anyone else irregardless of my roots or my preference in actors but some people will use tactics and personal attacks to invalidate your opinion. Not cool

My point is exactly as I said: people who suffered through the Holocaust are still alive. Like it or not, there is a huge difference between that and something that happened several centuries ago.

Victims of Mughals are still alive?😆 Those who're still alive are more likely to have blood of both sides. So who exactly is finding it painful except those with axes to grind for some other reason?

Also as a matter of curiosity, how many million were killed by Muslim emperors? Any source?

so if Hitler had repented, it would have made up for the 6 M Jews he slaughtered? The excuses that are thrown in for non-Muslims. Ok let's play, I'm curious to see how many excuses you can come up with, What about Alexander the Great. How many did he kill compared to Jehangir? And is Alexander outlawed anywhere in the world?

And I stand by my comment. this topic is proof enough that Muslim actor's patriotism is often questioned. I didn't say they live in perpetual fear, that's your words; not mine. I said that if they make any critical comment about the country they're told to move to Pakistan, and that's a fact. It's happened to Aamir and Shahrukh.
