A sub-category means the genre and the type combined. For eg. FanFiction Drabble/ romance is a subcategory and so is FanFiction Short Story/ Drama.

if you’re nominating your own work you can nominate only 2 of your stories overall in all subcategories.

But for others’ works you can nominate 2 stories per sub- category.
