True like all branded stuff, this too is just the hype. Agree with ambience too. That I understand. And will fully indulge in $25+ entrees. $8 is normal for us 😆..
But the way she spoke about Sona , like 3 yrs of planning etc makes it seem like she is involved in everything but looks like she just a influencer whose PR just brings in the ppl by duping them into thinking its her restaurant.
Now if its celebrated Chef's restaurants too, the menu and recipes are set by them but in the end its just overhyped restaurants. Sanjeev Kapoor's restaurants had really good food though.
On the rare occasion even I would indulge in those $25 entrees but those ingredients are a bunch of masalas mixed into water right? Lol you obviously have a lot of feels for them gol gappas so even you are unwilling to dish out $4/ gol gappa.
A lot of businesses do this, where they get someone appealing to be the face of their brand and let people believe that that individual is the owner while behind the scenes it's someone else pulling the strings. For example, that dude you always see in V Shred videos is just some dumb model following someone else's instructions and has no stake in the company. Rihanna's Fenty is owned by LVMH while Rihanna only has a 15% stake yet everyone believes she owns everything.
High end restaurants do use quality ingredients and the chef's themselves wake up at 4 am to head to the markets to grab the freshest ingredients. It's the same thing with brands. Some brands truly are just hype while others like luxe brands made in Italy and using quality materials may be worth it. Canada Goose (jackets normally $1000) is considered an investment and comes with a lifetime warranty and are made to last that long so it can be justified. Those $4 gol gappas I cannot justify at all. 😆
