I think the main reason behind her behavior is Jassu's return for her nice Saas avatar. Now she doesn't want the same thing to happen. Adding onto it Maachi's spicy commentary, she has begun showing her so-called political side to avoid Tejo from repeating Jassu's episode. Besides Satti's words have played a major role in her behavior because she supported her daughter even when she was in the wrong. So she might be thinking that Tejo is just as spoilt as Jasmine and if she brings up any issue with Tejo's mistakes Satti might again respond by taking Tejo's side even if she were in the wrong.
In my opinion, Gurpreet has a lot of similarities she shares with Tejo than she would care to admit. Especially in terms of family values.
- They both value family a lot and can do anything to maintain harmony. Most of the time these two act as mediators when conflict occurs.
- Others' happiness matter to them the most.
- Have a tendency to suffer silently.
- And most importantly, have younger sisters they love to the point that they ignore their flaws. Not completely ignore, they do reprimand Nimmo and Jassu when they feel their younger sisters have gone too far but overall they tend to overlook everything in the end and are ; back to being loving and elder sisters.
That's why Gurpreet should be able to at least relate to Tejo on this level and not judge her on the basis of Jassu's character.
you have made quite good points there, never thought of gurpreet's behavior from this angle.
I always felt that gurpreet feels threatened of tejo in a way, because she have seen first hand how much fateh and even khushbeer respect her, whuch she never got herself from her own husband so she maybe have an inferiority complex.
But yeah your points also makes a load of sense, now we just have to see how writers are gonna shape her character...
