Praising Janhvi for her great choice in movies
This movie was garbage and I didnt even watch it😆
Can’t sympathise with someone who backstabs her friend . Dating your friend’s FWB while they haven’t ended things yet is still backstabbing.

Meera didn't date him, did she? It was just a kiss and then she pulled back. She even wanted to end it right there.
And no, a FWB is not a boyfriend/girlfriend. There's a reason they're called "FWB".

Veronica.. Gautam tou was anyway blah but imagine being betrayed by your best friend, a friend you took in when she had no where else to go.. even if Veronica wasn't serious about Gautam would you get romantically involved with a guy who you have seen being intimate with your sister like friend.. at least wait a while lady😆 Meera and gautak's relationship was just creepy
How exactly did Meera "betray" her? It was just one drunken kiss. Then she flatly refused to continue it. Also, Veronica and Gautam were not serious.
Bold: Many people marry their bhabhi after their brother died. Many people end up marrying their jiju after the sister dies/they get divorced. Not such an uncommon thing.

While I completely understand that things may happen in the heat of the moment, I'm having a cognitive dissonance in this case because I'm also a firm believer of bro code 😆 As in idk if you've all watched Friends but while I'm aware that Rachel had moved on from her Chip Matthews phase, Monica later dating him made me feel slightly uncomfortable.
I don't dislike any of the two girls in Cocktail because their situations can be understood when you consider them individually, but I personally feel more for Veronica, especially since she's always been misunderstood because of the sl*t image that she has - which is probably why Gautam couldn't envision the long-term thing with her. Also, try putting yourself in her shoes (side note: her shoes in Angrezi Beat were gorgeous btw) and imagine your best friend kissing/hooking up with the guy you're in love with. It's devastating.
Well, she herself created the sl*t image that she had.
And while I understand her being upset at the guy she loves falling for someone else, she shouldn't have blamed Meera for it. It happens often that the people we love end up falling for our friends. We sob, cry, tear our hair out, then we eventually learn to move on. We don't blame our friends for "stealing" our SO.
Veronica. Meera is a backstabber and a shit friend.
No she isn't. Meera is a great friend who sacrificed her love for her bestie. Even though we all know love cannot be forced, but Meera was like one of those mahaan sacrificing leads of saas-bahu soaps who "sacrificed" her true love and went back to India. 😆
Meera because I find girls like Veronica extremely fickle minded and untrustworthy IRL!
At least Meera was not pretending to be something she ain't in order to fit in Plus girls like Veronica can never make good homemakers in the real world, so Gautam made the right decision IMO!

I believe that no one is 'at fault' here. Like a lot of people have said, Meera was actually ready to move past her feelings for Veronica's sake but then Veronica seemed to be okay with it (when she was clearly not) before having her cathartic episode at the night club. It's fair enough that Meera took that as a green light to be with Gautam.
But then the complexity of Veronica's character is what makes me feel for her more.
You're saying that she created her sl*t image. Yes, she did because she was someone who subconsciously pushed people away so as to protect herself because people usually left her; she was lonely and had no clear purpose in her life with parents who visibly didn't cater to her emotional needs. She was an emotional mess. Did she actually want to push people away? No, she was someone who wanted and deserved love.
And when she finally found home in a best friend, the latter happened to fall in love with the guy whom she actually garnered strength to let in. While putting all the blame on Meera doesn't objectively seem right, I understand where Veronica's frustration towards Meera came from, based on her character. She's human, she needed time to understand and rationalise but at the end she finally understood.
@bold This sounds great in theory but the process isn't always a cakewalk 😬

The situations are completely different.. Gautam and Veronica were in an ongoing relationship.. They were literally sleeping together a few days before the supposed grand kids.. and to actually get Romantically involved with a guy you have seen getting cozy kissy intimate with your sister like friend is just creepy.. very very creepy..
And no.. it wasn't just a kiss.. had it been just a kiss, she and Gautam wouldn't have told Veronica about their "love" in the kitchen.. She would have flatly refused to be a part of the conversation and be more firm with Gautam.. it was a betrayal.. even when she told Gautam no later, she was like agar mujhe pata hota k Veronica tumhe le kar serious hai tou ye kabhi nahi hota.. Hello.. woh serious ho ya na ho... He was living in with her.. he had an ongoing relationship with her.. you aren't supposed to get involved with a guy like that

So they were supposed to hide everything from Veronica? That would be worse. Also, fact is both Gau and Meera loved each other. Ishk par zor nahin chalta, you cannot control the heart, only your actions. Were they supposed to hide their love from each other all their lives and pretend to be okay in front of Veronica? How does that make any sense?
Also,Veronica herself pretended to be all okay with it, are you forgetting that?
Veronica was lovable, but also very immature as a person. There's no harm in accepting that, right?
