Who acted better in KKHH?

Rani played that character as if she was born to do it. She was like a dream

Rani owned her role. She was terrific⭐️

Kajol was inconsistent. Like, I loved the part where she played the role of the college girl but somehow the older Anjali was not so convincing.

Kajol was better than everyone. Rani had nothing much to do in the film.

Which life-changing acting of Rani have I missed here? 🤔 All she did in KKHH was have wind blown hair (foreshadowing her ghostly future) or spent the rest of her time stroking her cheek.

Kajol literally played two different characters.

I'm going to be the odd one out and express that I loved both Kajol and Rani in the film. Both ladies did full justice to their roles and more.

I commend Rani for having the audacity to sign a film (as a flop actress) against her superstar cousin Kajol, which was rejected by everyone from Aishwarya to Karisma to Raveena and Urmila. And to then not only be convincing in the role of a college bombshell but to have become so iconic in the process. I don't think anyone saw that coming.

But Kajol's portrayal of Anjali is in a league of it's own. It was the 90s, so of course the college tomboy had to have short hair and be bouncing around with boys and sticking her tongue out, and then all of a sudden she's in a sari and doing puja's to show her growth. But she did it with such finesse. The breadth of emotions she displayed, the gracefulness in the second half, the restraint. THAT SCENE IN THE RAIN WHEN RAHUL SAYS I LOVE YOU... come on y'all, which other actress can top that?? That scene was something else.

Kajol is good actress

but Rani is excellent

Kajol owned that film. I don't like Kajol's recent acting, she's too OTT and overrated post 2000. However she was decent in the 90s and her role in KKHH is one of the most iconic one ever. A lot of newer actresses, when they are asked what roles they aspire to do, often mention Kajol's role in DDLJ and KKHH. She proved you don't need to play the role of a blind girl or autistic girl or prostitute in some artsy flick to show great acting. She managed to create something very iconic and heartfelt despite playing a simplistic role.

Rani was great for a newcomer, but like I said, Kajol owned that film.

That said, aside from DDLJ and KKHH, I don't rate Kajol much as an actress.
