I think people might be angry at Imlie because of frustration they feel as a viewer.

Malini+ AC misbehaves > Adi shows mirror > Didi ka ego hurt and fight > family and Imlie ask him apologize > Didi gets happy

And the cycle continues. This is why ig people are frustrated because Adi is this close to telling the truth and frankly I think people are frustrated with seeing itna saara drama in a 20 minute show specially in a show with a nuanced screenplay like Imlie where almost every scene is meaningful

But for Aditya to figure things out, people beside imlie need to know the truth. He cannot sit and figure it all out himself. That is why if he wanted to talk to his mom today, he should be able to. Imlie does not want to take on the burden of Aditya Malini break up so her answer is force Aditya to be with Malini? Why can’t she back out? Why can’t she make it clear to Aditya that even if he leaves Malini, it will not mean she will be with him? Yeah, Aditya kept on harping about his love for Malini before, but he did come to PD, they shared some truths there about each other, Aditya has repeatedly said now he just cannot be the husband Malini wants, imlie is seeing Aditya suffer in front of her own eyes. Why then force him to be with Malini? Just because she feels guilty? Aditya has not sorted all his thoughts and feelings but hiding the truth is killing him. The choices he has are tough....no doubt. The fall out of people knowing the truth may be worst than what it is right now, but along with Imlie it is Aditya’s truth too and him wanting to share with people who love him, who gave birth to him should he his choice. Today Imlie was literally forcing Aditya to be with Malini and imposing her desire on him just so she does not have to feel guilty of their break up or family’s pain. She wants the truth hidden forever. But this is Aditya’s life too, his family and his relationship with Malini. To me it was just so wrong what Imlie did today with Aditya, first by interfering in his conversation with his mother and then blackmailing him to bring Malini back.

Imlie’s solution is that if Aditya and Malini are together, everything will be fine. But she is missing the big point here, Aditya does not want to he with Malini. He cannot pretend to be happy with Malini for Malini’s sake or his family’s sake, not even for Imlie’s sake. So if he cannot he happy, Malini will not be happy either, they will fight and family will suffer anyways. So what is the point of hiding the truth. Today when Aparna was telling Pankaj that she does not understand what went wrong, imlie’s thought is that Malini needs to come back? WTH. No, the answer is Aditya to tell the truth to his mom, work it out with his mom why he can’t be with Malini. And the best time to do that is when Malini is not around.

Deffo, but I also think that she will be (more) after Adi because he is the one that kept her in the dark for so many years and she will take revenge no matter what ... isliye toh that psycho behavior of hers to manipulate him or the people around her.

A major part of the problem will remain until Adi does not have a convincing response to Imlie saying, "Aap pe pehla haq Malini didi ka hai", "Saat saal ke rishte ko kaise khatam kar sakte hain" etc. etc.....he never gives her a dhang ka response to these statements but just keeps repeating his standard sach bol denge toh sab theek ho jaayega line.

Also, I guess they think it's too hairy for them to get into the timeline for "when" Adi fell in love with Imlie😆.....he obviously didn't "change" simply in those 4 days in PD....but that's what Malini/family keep harping about ki Adi woh ek trip ke baad badal gaya......and Adi doesn't bother clarifying to anyone, heck not even to Imlie when he fell in love with her.....lol...realization happened in those 4 days, yeah but clearly falling in love was happening since much before....while he was continuing to lie to himself and to everyone else that Malini is the only one he loves....and wohi hairy part it seems the writers currently lack the courage to touch or they are just dragging for drama😆.

So yeah, then Imlie will stick to the basics she knows....that he's loved Malini for a looong time and bas Imlie beech mein aa gayi warna sab mast chal raha tha😆

I feel the guilt goes in hand-in-hand with the characterization. Unpopular opinion but she doesn't want to further aggravate the mess because she's seen messed up lives therefore doesn't want to feel like a curse in the household. Yes, it does get frustrating but as it was mentioned in the previous episode, whether college or life, it is the game of confidence. While Aditya is also right, let us bring out the truth & determination but I feel it could also lead to substantial conflicts arisen. Right now, her confidence has been cornered by this guilt-ridden factor. Until that is discarded, this confidence won't arrive in a jiffy. Imlie's perspective is understandable & patience is also required here.

Plus, as someone mentioned, Adi just wants to finish this chapter but the rationale hasn't been properly provided to imlie/

Didi ke sangat mein Babusahib ka bhi one track mind ho gaya hai...he's so hung up on telling his Imlie wala truth that he overlooks the full scope of the problem he is in. Your problem is multi-faceted Babusahib, so you need to tackle it accordingly.

He has successfully convinced everyone how right Malini is a partner for him, so it will seem jarring for them na that how all of a sudden their marriage is crumbling? He has introspected that he has never loved Malini, he needs to have this conversation with Imlie too. Because he has drilled into her mind for so long that he loved Malini and how she was the best partner for him, toh Imlie might think that he has fallen out of love with Malini because of her. Perhaps that's why she thinks she has come between them? Adi needs to explain to her clearly that Imlie didn't come between them...and explain his feelings for Imlie v/s Malini as AY said already. Well at least today he told her firmly not to interfere between him and Malini, that's a start!

He's already introspected that his relationship with Malini was based on comfort and convenience but he needs to introspect also on the fact that he never knew Malini at all, and she didn't know him either. They were always incompatible... He needs to understand all this and explain it to his family and Imlie. I understand that right now his only agenda is telling his family about Imlie truth and he's laser focused on that, but he needs to wake himself up to the full scope of the problem he is in. Otherwise, this will bite him in the behind later too like his decision to bring back Imlie did. It's also very important that he has this conversation with his family because if he doesn't, Didi will use this point as ammunition later to play victim that she was always devoted and loyal to him and he strung her along for 7 years and then fell out of love with her overnight. Which simply is not true, the truth is he didn't understand his feelings for both Malini and Imlie for so long and that's why he made so many mistakes. He needs to explain this to his family before outing the truth, otherwise Imlie will have to bear the brunt of Didi's ghatiyapanti.

But even then, I don't think Imlie's guilt will go away....Malini needs to insult her Mom & SK for something to click in her. I hope truth is outed before it is revealed that Malini is her half sis, because after that...well let's not try to imagine what happens after that.😆

And he can’t provide the rationale to Imlie because he has not figured out everything yet. He knows the truth and he know his heart. That’s it. He obviously needs to talk to someone, but as per imlie that cannot happen. He cannot talk to his parents or siblings. He is supposed to live a ghoot ghoot ke life with Malini just because he does not have all the answers himself to present to imlie on a silver platter. Imlie is so guilt ridden that she just cannot see anything objectively, outside her guilt. So what is the point of Aditya analyzing his feelings with her if Imlie cannot be objective about the whole situation. And that is okay, imlie can be guilt ridden but she can’t impose on Aditya. If he wants to talk to his mom, he should be able to do that. If imlie wants to talk to mithi, she should be able to do that too. Imlie wants to protect T family but she forgets that it is Aditya’s family too.

And without Malini present to do her drama, today was the best time for Aditya to tell the 4 elders the truth so that as a family they could work together. Aditya is never going to figure out everything himself, he obviously needs help and since he has no friends, the only people left is his family.

@bold: Exactly. I don't deny that it's frustrating to watch Imlie fixated on this and insisting Adi stick it out with Malini kaise bhi karke but it does absolutely go with the background she's had and all the messed up lives she's seen, the impact of broken relationships.

To her, Adi-Malini were presented as an ideal couple😆....and Tripathis were presented as this happy/loving family.....she isn't able to bear the thought of them all falling apart and being unhappy.

Then to the question of people asking why she doesn't just up and leave or give up calling Adi her husband.....again, it's consistent with her school of thought ki rishte ko deny nahin kiya jaata....she also doesn't deny her own rishta with Adi but she puts Malini's rights above hers since Adi chose to marry Malini and also told her like a bazillion times how perfect Malini was for him....so it's not a stretch for Imlie to think he only fell in love with her now and that has taken him away from Malini and will hurt her.

Imlie doesn't let Adi tell her what he feels for her....so then it's best Adi start telling her what he never really felt for Malini but lied to himself and everyone else about😆
