I as most of us think Shaan moving out would have been better than the life trio are living right now. And Astha as mentioned many times always wanted the same. For Shaan to support her when she needed him the most.

The main problem is whatever Shaan chose Or whatever he was forced to choose, he was never at peace with that. He let his wife go physically but her thoughts never left him. He got his son with him but was not present for him. He grew bitter towards his family and took help in alcohol. His action affected life of his son and wife too. So I think trying to tackle problem named Sabharwals would have been better than surrendering to the situation.

Shaan and Astha didn’t know much what future held for them. Astha had given up everything for Shaan but then world changed for them. Astha is strong but Shaan was weak so Astha was alone to fight the battle.

Here Shaurya and Anokhi will know because Anokhi has faced all the brunt beforehand. And she is a warrior. And Shaurya is equally strong. He can fight for him and his loved ones. He will fight for anokhi like Shaan never did. We saw that ydy- Shaan couldn’t fight for anokhi even though he knew all the logic. Shaurya came in and fought and zipped everyone.

It’s nothing but partnership- partners need to be equal.

(Offcourse I am referencing to future Shaurya. Current Shaurya doesn’t understand partnership)

Also, in past Devi had Shaurya hence had power to ruin people’s lives. In future Devi won’t have Shaurya. Hoping she goes into a shell and locks herself into a room only to never bother anyone in the family again 🤣

Before Shaurya reaches the stage where he understands "partnership" in a marriage, there will be a lot of times he will disappoint us. I am saying this based on Shaurya's character.

He wants to be "the man" in the relationship. He expects his partner to "obey" and "follow" him and his orders and accept his decisions. Now, when he falls in love with her, he might realize that Anokhi is not the one to "obey" and "follow" anyone blindly but I am sure it will take some time for him to adapt to her decision making techniques. She is leader not a follower.

Same goes with Anokhi. She has seen men be the hurdles or chains that bind the woman. She has always fought through these scenes all by herself. And on instances when Shaurya's misogyny will pop up, she will again behave like a lone ranger against the whole world. They both will have to work on themselves individually to make their relationship work.

There is a lot they have to learn when it comes to "companionship". And I am looking forward to watch them grow as a team.

Both Aastha and Shaan are to be blamed equally. Shaan was a bad husband and a bad father by letting his loyalty to his relatives cloud over his responsibilities to his family.

By taking a stand for herself Aastha did the right thing. But I refuse to believe that she couldn't take a stand for her son. As a mother she's responsible for her son as much as she's responsible for her parents. Walking out on him like that when badi maa grabbed shows her weakness as a mother. I know of mothers who fought tooth and nail to have their child. We never saw this with Aastha. The courage and conviction she showed as caretakers for her parents she didn't show for her son. She simply assumed he was in safe hands. Did she ask Shaan? Did she file a case? Did she try? (Not counting her story of waiting outside the mansion).

The point is she walked out on her little child instead of insisting she takes him along. Shaurya wanted to go with her. She chose the easy way out. Ran for her freedom.

Where there is a will there is a way. And I didn't see in Aastha the determined will of a mother who loves her son strong enough to fight for him. I dont think her abandoning Shaurya can be justified.

Had it been Aastha aur Shaan ki kahani instead of Shaurya aur Anokhi, we might understand their motivations better. We have seen their story only in bits and pieces and we can only make assumptions based on that. I based my judgement of Aastha's character entirely on what little we have seen of her. She is never shown to be lacking in courage and conviction. She never backs out from fighting unless the stakes are very high. That is what made me think that Aastha did not fight a court case because that would also put both Shaurya and Shaan through grueling cross questionings which would result in a lot of emotional trauma for Shaurya. In addition, court cases drag on for years and Shaurya would become like a trolley that would be hauled from Aastha to Shaan to Aastha after each verdict. Plus, she loved Shaan dearly. She did not want to take Shaurya away from Shaan. Also, you can take it as a character flaw but she did not think only a mother can bring up a child. Shaan was quite a caring person. So she trusted Shaan to take care of him. I think Shaan did keep her updated about Shaurya through messages like he did during his engagement. Based on that she assumed he was doing fine. Because on the surface Shaurya does seem fine. He is the first priority for everyone, his opinion is given the foremost importance. No one was aware of the pain that he was carrying inside.

I still think if Aastha thought both her parents and Shaurya were in dire straits, she would have chosen Shaurya but in this case she felt letting him go would be in his best interest. That is how I read her character. Your impression might be entirely different. After all it is a fictional character, that too on itv. The CVs never give much thought on chalking out side characters. Though I feel the intention was never to show Aastha as an irresponsible mother but as a victim of patriarchy but they somehow screwed it.

that why i dont want the love realization and confession right now , neither of them actually know each other properly.

anokhi's 'us-verses-them' mentality and shaury's misogyny and agression would clash horribly and its a recipe for toxicity if neither of them understand where the other person is coming from

It's not for Aastha to decide whether Shaurya needs his dad or her or both. Makers have failed to show a logical reason behind Aastha abandoning her son. A victim of patriarchy is one who succumbs to it. A woman with the courage to fight against it is a fighter. In Aastha's case she fought for her rights and stood by them but didn't fight for her son. Court case would have been hard but with his mother on his side may be the child would have faced it better than growing up thinking the mother never wanted him. Also Aastha knew that the Sabarwal house was a toxic hellhole and she still left her son behind in that house. In a court case Devi or Tej would have had no say. I doubt Shaan would have fought against her and asked for the custody.

Yes it's a fictional character but since we are trying to analyse the characters, especially this trio, this is my perception of Aastha. A strong woman but a weak mother/parent. So far makers didn't show any scenes or storylines to show otherwise. As a parent she was selfish.

Anokhi's mother never fought for her rights and is a victim of patriarchy. But when it came to her daughter she showed the courage and conviction to fight against the system and give her the life she wanted. She was a weak woman as a wife but a strong and selfless mother.

I think Aastha owes a big apology to Shaurya. She didn't leave him just with his dad. She left him behind in a toxic hellhole knowing fully well that no one there was going to teach him right from wrong. Not even Shaan. If he was capable of that he wouldn't have let Aastha suffer and she knew it. When I think of her character as a mother I have little respect for her.

What surprises me the most is Aastha going on and against Devi in the hospital about how toxic Sabherwal house is, yet, she abandoned her 4yr old son to the same toxic environment.

Aastha might be a good daughter, an amazing teacher, a strong woman but she failed as a mother. A mother can do all of those and fight her battles. I’m never going ever like or believe in her self righteous reasons for abandoning her child.

Shaan is absolutely useless and a coward. He couldn’t be there for his son but chose to drown his misery in alcohol. They claim to have so much love for each other but they totally ignored and abandoned Shaurya the proof of that love. I know this is ITV and fiction but as a Mom myself I’m never going to forgive Aastha. I don’t care what she does, she and Shaan ruined Shaurya. Now they act surprised when Shaurya behaves badly. What did you think would happen??

He was raised by the very people and thought process that Aastha ran from. That to me is unforgivable.

Exactly....an absolute failure as parents both of them. Character flaws are ok but this is a huge setback that I can't oversee. All her strength is to fight for herself and others, not for her son. And I can't buy the story that she thought she was leaving him behind in a beautiful household instead of having to fight it out. That household is so toxic even for an adult, let alone a child.. honestly, Aastha didn't care...or didn't care enough...
