Was this story inspired by the royal family scandal?

Aight idk why but Sai always gave my Lady Diana (LD) vibes and Virat is like Prince Charles (PC) and Pakhi didi is like Camilla. Till now, nobody likes Camilla and everyone misses Lady Diana. In a way, this story has so many parallels to the Royal family scandal. Even LD got married at a young age and Prince Charles was much older than her and had a past with another woman who became the reason for their broken marriage. I heard on one of the voice recording of LD where she was saying somewhere along the lines that PC and Camilla always thought since she was still young that she would not know about their EMA. But at last when LD confronted Camilla, she said something along the lines that “you have everything, what more else do you want?” And Diana had replied “I just want my husband.” When YouTube randomly recommended me to watch the documentary it just reminded me of this show all of sudden and thought I found it interesting and would share it with y’all. And the scene where Sai walks out of the house in her black kurta reminded me of the video clips where LD walked out on a black dress to divorce PC.

I would have said yes if:

  1. Virat was deeply in love with Pakhi (not two days yoga love)
  2. Virat was a douche who was still in love with Pakhi after getting married to Sai.

The only similarity I see is that both LD and Sai are strong... and probably Pakhi is as cheap as Camillia.

You stole my thoughts. There is no similarity in the core because Virat doesn't love Vahini but I was reminded of this tragic marriage that Diana was trapped in especially when Sai was talking to Amey... The 'bheed' wala dialogue.

It was a dialogue that sounded like a famous comment from Diana, "I always knew there were the three of us in this marriage. It was crowded."

This comment from Diana has been stuck for more than a decade or so and when Sai spoke about more than two being Bheed while talking to Amey, I was reminded of this. I wish Virat would have heard that too but he did not.

From Sai's perspective it is exactly that. But the story isn't.

Hi, I can only claim an acquaintance with this show since I started watching it couple of days ago so I don't know the characters intimately; however I came across this post and I would like to offer you a different perspective on the royal 'scandal'. That of a man who was bullied by a regressive system into marrying a 'suitable' woman : young, beautiful and virgin for the sole sake of spawning an heir . Why a starry-eyed 19 year old agreed to marry an aloof 32 year old man, we can only guess. After all, who can turn down the chance of being a princess disregarding all signs that he was just not that into her - surely not an infatuated teenager ? This marriage was not about forging an equal partnership or companionship (which Charles craved for), but that of a guardian and a child. Traditionally society has always viewed women as naive, child-like and vulnerable creatures who need a strong seasoned man as a guardian - replacement of the father. It is no mystery why the majority of romantic stories revolve around young women and older men - it serves the name narrative- and there is surely the additional sexual appeal of the innocent with the experienced. But in real life, 9 times out of 10 such a large age gap changes the nature of the relationship and can become frustrating pretty quickly especially if the man is seeking an authentic life partner to share his world with.

Most were perplexed why a prince would have an affair with an old horsey-looking woman when he had a gorgeous young wife. After all, aren't looks the primary worth of a wife and a younger wife can hold on to it for longer ? But the fact is, a happy marriage if one of equitable partnership that nurtures only through the melding of hearts and minds. The royal couple had little in common and the age gap was the biggest factor in the dissolution of their marriage. It matters not that public sympathy lies with Diana; No one can deny that their marriage itself was a a mistake. In the real world, a Virat would likely be much happier with a Pakhi; the allure of childish theatrics actually grows old pretty quickly.
