Anti India movies in Bollywood?

In the last 10-15 years, there have been so many movies on how India is such a bad country. Things like how India is the rape capital of the world, one of the worst countries in Crime and Corruption, where minorities are living in fear all the time, where people poop on the street because of no toilets etc.... all bad topics have been discussed in these movies.

My question is, are these sort of movies really necessary? who is financing these movies? because a lot of people or countries which hate India, use these movies as an example to show how India is the worst country in the world, they make fun of India.

To me Bollywood is just giving the enemies what they want by making so many of these movies.

it’s not a bad thing or anti India thing .. we have these issues and I am glad it’s being discussed .. I love India but I won’t deny the fact that we have some serious issues and atleast in the name of the movie it’s being discussed

Movies itself are not necessary, but they are still made.

The same way, anti-India movies are not necessary, but still made.

BW has gradually transitioned from buffoonery / airy fairy tales in general of the 90s to more pragmatic,realistic approach in recent..May be that is showing up..

May be its rewarding for some BW people to handshake green eyed West errm I mean collaboration with their production houses..

May be its rewarding to be blunt about oneself..

It's the truth and reality only. Art, cinema and literature of a country is a reflection of its society. I think it would harm a country and its people more if such films are not made. People need to be shown the mirror.

Since when is the harsh reality anti-India?

A few movies like this here and there dont hurt.

Can't show india as some fairy land which lives on equality and women safety, no?

I hope one makes a movie how farmers are getting treated by the Govt and how govt only cares for Ambanis and Adanis

P.S. these TRUE topics are anti India ? 😆 I think soon these makers will also be called Terrorists .

Dont know about anti India but Hindu phobic movies are being made for sure. Any movie that does not glorify Mughals are being panned. Look at how URI movie is panned by so called LIBERAL bollywood ...but kashmiri propogandist movie like 'RAAZI' is not.

Anupama chopra talks about inclusivity while reviewing 'Tanhaji' but she goes into shell when asked to apply the same for outsiders. What is her problem... we made so many movies glorifying Mughals ...what is so wrong in making mmovies on Hindu kings...beats me.

who is financing these movies ...umm ...let me ask one thing. In SANJU movie all hindu gundas are shown ...but the actual 93 Blasts preperator Dawoods name is missing...why ?

And, any country with strong military generally makes patriortic movies...no one does it like USA...India does not even glorify its militay so much.

Guess what ! u need a bit of jingoistic movies ... how else will you convince young kids to go to die protecting borders ? The chopras and kapoors wont do it.

Movies are a reflection of what happens in the society...well most of the times....yes but why make movies on them...instead we can just do this...
