this has more to do with how one reacts based on character traits and directors scene composition .
for me both seem mediocre. There is nothing wrong with mediocrity. Majority of the world falls in mediocre middle . Very few ppl are really good or really bad ....even in Bollywood .
Better example would be Deepika and Priyanka scenes from Bajirao Mastani

Your a bad ass ❤️
There is no difference between good and mediocre because mediocrity passes off as good and even "brilliant" in some cases.... all you need is someone to blow your trumpet everywhere to create that illusion in people's minds. 😆
I guess if your movie sells, you're considered "good" ... but that can also be debated since people are constantly bombarded with commercials for products to buy and selective actors depending on their outreach. It's a vicious cycle. Convincing people that you're "good" is a business. You can convince people that you're really good even though you might be a scamster, but that doesn't actually make you good. It only makes you a great scamster.😛
Very very rarely, sure, there are actors and movies that are undeniably praiseworthy even if odds are stacked against them otherwise. Now THAT's what I would keep my eye out for.

Where the dynamic Priyanka completely overshadowed the wooden Deepika!

Well, I don't see it like that at all. Both were playing their parts well. Overall, Priyanka is a slightly better actress than Deepika but I do sense Deepika's pain very well here. She is pretty convincing, and she is more muted than Priyanka, but the scene demands that. At no point did I feel she was getting overshadowed.

Talking of overshadowed, Priyanka gets royally overshadowed by Kangana here.
Taapsee will always be better than Alia in every way, period.
